In between all the cameos, jokes, and breaking the fourth wall, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is slowly raising the stakes with each episode. Leaving us with a cliffhanger in Ep 3 was the scene where Jennifer gets attacked by a misfit crew.
At first, they just seem to be trolls who want to give her grief for nothing other than being a female Hulk. But it’s soon revealed that they could be part of a bigger villainous scheme.
In She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, the Wrecking Crew is a four-person group wielding stolen Asgardian construction weapons. They seem to be working under the orders of a “boss” speculated to be either Titania or Kingpin, who wants them to get a sample of She-Hulk’s DNA.
As Bruce explains in Ep 1, Jennifer’s DNA has wondrous properties, including regeneration. But in the wrong hands, this can mean big trouble. That’s why he destroys the vials containing her blood samples.
Clearly, someone has gotten a whiff of this information and is out to steal the She-Hulk’s DNA using the Wrecking Crew. So, let’s understand who this crew is in the first place, and who their big boss could be.
Who are the Wrecking Crew?
In the comics, the Wrecking Crew is a four-person villain squad made up of the Wrecker, Bulldozer, Piledriver, and Thunderball. While they have battled many superheroes including She-Hulk, their main adversary was Thor.
Now this crew was not invoked by name in She-Hulk’s Ep 3, but one of the men attacking Jennifer at the end of the episode was called Thunderball. Then, there was the very obvious “W” on their shirts as well.
Similar to the comic book versions where the villains wield construction-type weapons, the MCU’s Wrecking Crew, too, seems to be in possession of stolen Asgardian construction weapons—a nice Easter egg tying them to their comic book origins.
The Wrecking Crew’s Possible Boss
In my opinion, there are two strong possibilities about the identity of the Wrecking Crew’s boss—Titania and Kingpin. Of course, the show could go in a totally other direction and come up with a completely new character to head the Wrecking Crew.
I. Titania
Although we haven’t seen much of Titania yet, the show has teased her as the show’s big, bad villain. Since she’s an influencer, it’s possible she was able to recruit a group to do her bidding.
Right now, we don’t know what her exact beef with She-Hulk is, but we may not stray too far to speculate that Titania may want to grow stronger by using She-Hulk’s DNA, and hence recruited the Wrecking Crew.
II. Kingpin
Titania sure is a viable option, but I’m willing to place all my chips on Kingpin being the Wrecking Crew’s big boss. Whatever happened in Hawkeye, I don’t believe for a second that it resulted in Kingpin dying for good.
The underground is his terrain, and it does seem like he’d be easily able to recruit such goons. A man like Kingpin knows how valuable and commodifiable She-Hulk’s DNA can be, and in some ways, would yearn to be in possession of it even more than Titania.
Plus, we cannot forget that Daredevil is set to appear in the show as well. So while Titania could be the show’s main villain, the Daredevil arc would be about how the two superheroes partner up to take Kingpin down.
