Big Reveal: Sun God Unmasked in Chapter 1129 of One Piece, Turns Out to be a Familiar Face

One Piece Chapter 1129 spoilers briefly clarify the current location of the Straw Hats, as well as reveal the Sun God’s identity. It is revealed that the Sun God is a giant the Straw Hats have met before. One Piece chapter 1129 spoilers focus primarily on explaining who the Sun God is. Moreover, we also learn his motivation for kidnapping the Straw Hats, seemingly setting him up as the Elbaf Arc’s first antagonist.

Sun God has a Problem

The chapter opens with the Straw Hats confronting a furious Sun God, who is incensed at the damage to his temple and his people. Despite the looming threat, the crew stands united, ready to face whatever comes their way.

The Sun God’s attempt to ensnare the crew in a colossal iron net poses a significant threat. However, Zoro and Sanji’s swift and powerful response manages to shatter the net, freeing the crew from the trap.

Spoilers also specify that the Sun God speaks like Wano’s samurai and also uses modern otaku terms. He rants about the story of their presence here, calling it “peak fiction” as he calls each of them by name with the honorific suffix “taso.” This is an old term that is contemporarily used to display affection for anime or manga characters.

Sun God’s Identity and the Reason Behind Straw Hats’ Abduction

The chapter then reveals the Sun God’s identity to be the navigator of Hajrudin’s New Giant Warrior Pirates, Road, and then dives into his backstory through a flashback.

Road disagrees with Hajrudin’s decision to join the Straw Hat Grand Fleet after the Dressrosa arc, laughing as he rants about hating their membership in the Grand Fleet. This ideological rift explains why Road kidnapped part of the Straw Hat crew.

He holds strong grievances against Hajrudin’s alliance with Luffy and the Straw Hats, believing that the New Giant Warrior Pirates should not have aligned with the Grand Fleet. It is also revealed how the Straw Hats were captured.

How Were the Straw Hats Captured

It’s revealed that Muginn carried the Thousand Sunny to Road, with the crew sleeping due to passing through the “Sleeping Fog” area on their voyage to Elbaf.

Toward the end of the spoilers, the battle escalates, and Nami and Zeus launch an attack on Road as the issue heads into its final double spread, which sees Luffy use the Gum-Gum Kong Gun to smash through a nearby wall.

The issue ends before readers can see what’s outside. Still, Luffy is smiling, probably after seemingly creating a path for the crew to escape or uncover more secrets about their situation.
