With the inclusion of the Eternals in the MCU, we got some of the strongest characters who might just be stronger than some of our Avengers, if not all.
With characters who are synthetic creatures created to cause events that’d affect an entire planet, it sure does seem that the Eternals might play a huge role in fighting the next big villain in the MCU.
If you, too, are wondering how strong these characters are and who is the strongest Eternal character, you’re not alone. I’ve made a list of the top 10 strongest Eternals characters in the MCU ranked. Let’s dive in.
10 Sprite
Sprite is perhaps the least strong of all Eternals. While she possesses the usual powers all Eternals do, her unique abilities only include shapeshifting, illusion manipulation, duplication, and concealment.
While these are useful defensive qualities, they aren’t offensive and don’t help much in a battle.
9 Phastos
Phastos has the best mind that can create things. While his combat skills aren’t that great, his innovations can potentially boost every Eternals power or strength in a battle.
In the movie, he was the one who gave humans the idea of creating fire, the wheel, and even atomic energy. The last of the lot was used by humankind to create bombs and obliterate Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
In the battle against the Deviants and Tiamut – The Communicator, Phastos created the Uni-mind, which ultimately became the weapon to help the Eternals win the battle.
8 Kingo
Kingo’s finger boosters and energy blasts were quite effective in a battle, but only to injure the deviants and give time to the Eternals to prepare for their next move.
Besides that, Kingo was a good marksman and a decent combatant but nothing more. Overall, he’s the Eternal who is helpful in a battle, but not one whom you’d miss if absent.
7 Druig
His battle powers aren’t the best, but he’s got a more significant gift. He can read people’s minds, control them, manipulate them, and in essence, make anyone think, say, and do things he wants.
The full potential of his powers wasn’t showcased in the films, but we did get to see a glimpse. We see him living in the forest with a mini-army under his literal control.
6 Ajak
Ajak, being the leader of the Eternals, had some special powers such as celestial communication and healing others. However, we didn’t get to see her combat skills or any other offensive skills in action.
She was a leader to the Eternals and guided them into doing whatever Arishem The Judge wanted them to do for millennia.
5 Makkari
Makkari is the classic speedster we see in the superhero genre. However, what makes her unique is that she has numerous other powers since she is a part of the Eternals.
The nimble character is rumored to be faster than Ikaris himself. Whether that’s true or not, she was pretty helpful in the final battle as the Eternals fought against Kro and Ikaris.
4 Sersi
Before Sersi became Ajak’s successor, her biggest strength was matter manipulation which might be a defensive skill set.
However, it proved to be pretty valuable throughout the film, and there were multiple instances where she stood up to the occasion and held her own while fighting deviants.
In fact, she killed a deviant by turning it into a literal tree. After becoming the Eternals’ leader, she also got Ajak’s powers and became adept with celestial communication.
3 Thena
Thena is the most adept warrior amongst all the Eternals. Her combat skills, battle strategy, and weapon expertise are unparalleled. She has mastered the art of using spears, knives, swords, shields, axes and is also an incredible acrobat.
What makes all this exponentially better is her ability to manifest weapons out of thin air. So while she is facing off an enemy like Kro, she can manifest any weapon almost instantaneously.
2 Ikaris
Ikaris is the second strongest Eternal in the MCU. Yes, as most of you already know, he’s Marvel’s version of Superman, who can fly and shoot laser beams from his eyes.
What truly made him powerful was his ability to become a great battle strategist and tactician, which elevated his presence in any fight.
Even in the final fight scene, he held his own against the likes of Makkari and Sersi. Although he was defeated, nobody could kill him, and he killed himself by flying into the sun.
1 Gilgamesh
Gilgamesh is the strongest Eternals character in the MCU. He is a skilled hand-to-hand combatant and one of the best fighters in the universe. His main power is manifesting exoskeletons that protect him and multiply his strength in fights.
Gilgamesh was the only Eternals who could withstand Thena’s attacks and even overpower her every time she had the Mahd Wy’ry condition.
In the film, the only reason he dies is because he chooses to sacrifice himself to protect Thena and the other others from Kro, who sucks out Gilgamesh’s cosmic essence.
That was the list, guys! While these are the Eternals characters from the MCU, the comics have even more powerful ones with more nuanced powers and abilities.
