Dragon Ball Super Chapter 68 teases the rise of Universe 7’s next strongest fighter, who is expected to surpass all the Universe 7 fighters who appeared in the Tournament of Power.
Now, who can be this emerging warrior who will match up with (and surpass) warriors as strong as Goku and Vegeta? Is the Oracle fish referring to one of the two? Or is it the new character named Granolah, around whom the current arc is expected to revolve?
1. Will Goku Unlock a New Level of Ultra Instinct?
We know how Goku never gets satisfied no matter how strong he becomes. He is currently training with Whis, aiming to take his Ultra Instinct to an all-new level.
We get to see how Goku has improved with every fight. Whis can no longer deal with him just by finger movements. He is forced to resort to a more aggressive style of fighting.
Goku even imitates one of the Whis’s technique almost perfectly. Whis knows how to deal with his own technique, and he suggests Goku to work on his own style instead of copying others.
He even reminds Goku that there’s still much room left for him to train and grow. So, it’s interesting to witness how Ultra Instinct is turning more into something like the Super Saiyan ability, which can be broken into different levels.
Despite all these, the probability is very thin for Goku being the warrior of the prophecy because Goku is already the strongest warrior of Universe 7, and the oracle fish must be referring to someone else who will surpass him.
2. Vegeta’s Quest to Surpass Goku in His Own Way
For years we have seen how Vegeta was always one step behind Goku in terms of power. With Goku mastering his Ultra Instinct, this power difference has increased even more.
Vegeta aims at surpassing Goku in his own way, without achieving Ultra Instinct. Meanwhile, Beerus gives him a hint that there are other techniques apart from Ultra Instinct that the Gods use.
Ultra Instinct is basically the Angels’ speciality. For impulsive and emotion-driven fighters like Vegeta, there exist other techniques where the users don’t need to keep their heart calm and tranquil.
Beerus will be training himself and indirectly tempts Vegeta to watch him strain to learn this new technique.
Now, will this new technique be enough for Vegeta to surpass Goku? It is very less likely because Angels are much stronger than the Gods of Destruction, and as I said, Ultra Instinct is an Angelic technique, so it will hard for Vegeta to surpass Goku with a new technique.
3. Granola’s Revenge on Frieza & Saiyans
Granola has nurtured a heavy grudge over Frieza and the Saiyans, who were responsible for the destruction of his planet.
All it requires is a strong motive for a warrior to be born, and Granolah surely has that within him. Moreover, the prophecy took place just when he decided to grow stronger than anyone and avenge all the Cerelians.
This suggests that the new warrior is most likely Granolah, who is coming to take his revenge on Frieza and the Saiyans.
As Whis previously said, the Oracle fish suffering from insomnia is a bad omen, and Granolah might be the next disaster Universe 7 will face.
However, with his current power level, Granolah doesn’t stand a chance before Goku or Vegeta. He needs to get his hands over some divine power to surpass or match up to them.
The remains of Seven-Three may somehow help him to acquire this power he craves, or he may get his hands over one of the other godly techniques Beerus was talking about. I guess we have to wait for the upcoming chapters to know it for sure.
