Who is Shinra’s dad? Where is he? Is he still alive?

The end of season one of Fire Force teased the truth about the Infernals and addressed the very identity and past of Shinra with a shocking and unexpected reveal.

After finally knowing a little more about his mother, we are only left clueless about his father’s identity.

1. Who is Shinra’s Father? What happened to him?

During the tragic accident 12 years ago, Shinra and Sho were rescued. At the same time, their mother turned into a Demon Infernal, trying to save them. However, during these times, there was no mention of Shinra’s father… not even a hint.

Shinra’s biological father has not been revealed in the Fire Force anime or manga. He only came in one manga panel before Shinra’s mother gave birth. Other than this instance, there has been no mention of Shinra’s father or his death.

2. Is Shinra’s father still alive?

12 years ago, when the fire broke out at Shinra’s house, Shinra’s mother turned into a Demon Infernal with the intention of saving her children. This burnt the house down completely, and she died too.

During this entire tragedy, Shinra’s father was nowhere to be seen. While Shinra and Sho were ultimately saved, how could Shinra’s father not be there to protect his own children? If he was alive, he should have been there to save his family. Him not being there only adds to the theory of him being dead.

But, there still hasn’t been any confirmation one way or the other in the manga.

3. Where is Shinra’s father?

We still haven’t been made aware of the identity of Shinra’s father. Hence, his whereabouts and even his current living situation remain unknown.

4. About Fire Force

In a world combating the Spontaneous Human Combustion phenomenon, there emerges the Fire Force company to protect its people and guide the lost ones. This phenomenon causes people to combust in flames and become a creature of fire called Infernals.

The anime follows Shinra Kusakabe, nicknamed as the ‘Devil’s Footprints,’ who is haunted by his past. He joins Company 8 of the Fire Force in hopes of unlocking its mystery and, in turn, gets involved in deconstructing the grand conspiracy of his world.
