Dr. Stone’s fourth season has begun airing, and the fandom has been depetrified to join Senku’s adventure as he ventures to America. The trailers have hinted at a villain, Dr. X.
This time, it will be messy for Senku and his team, as their villain isn’t going to be some big-bicep Tsukasa Shishio; rather, it will be a scientist who stands on equal footing with Senku, perhaps even higher.
In this article, we will answer all your questions about Dr. Xeno and his past with Senku.
1. Who is Dr. Xeno? What is his relationship with Senku?
Dr. Xeno Houston Wingfield, aka Dr. X, is the antagonist of the “New American City Arc” and “South America Arc.” His relationship with Senku is that of a mentor.
Before the global petrification, Dr. X was a scientist at NASA, and he had taken Senku under his wing for mentorship when Senku had reached out for some aid with his rocket experiment.
While working with Senku, he researched the bizarre appearance of petrified swallows, which were conscious and showed some brain activity.
He attended a science EXPO to discuss this phenomenon with fellow scientists. He tried to report it to NASA’s military unit, the Why-Man, which petrified everyone on Earth.
Dr. X was depetrified on April 1, 5739, about three millennia later, about a year after Senku emerged. He established his military rule in San Francisco and took over a factory that produced ammunition and weapons. He also constructed his castle and had his team.
Despite their experiments, Dr. X didn’t know about the revival fluid like Senku.
2. Is Dr. Xeno the Bad Guy?
Dr.Xeno will play the bad guy for “New American City Arc” and “South America Arc.” However, after that, he joins hands with Senku later on to defeat humanity’s common foe, Why-Man.
When Dr.Xeno and his team attack the Kingdom of Science in the New American Arc, he briefly stops his mate, Stanley, from shooting Senku as he remembers their bond.
He gives the order anyway, as he knows Senku will not be his ally in ruling the world as a dictator. However, Senku has a trick up his sleeve and can save himself.
Senku takes Dr.Xeno to the Kingdon of Science, where they contemplate the petrification beam source. There, the “South America Arc” begins.
After the second wave of petrification, Dr.Xeno and Senku become allies. They aim to build a rocket ship to land on the moon, where the Why-Man resides.
3. Is Dr. Xeno smarter Than Senku?
Although they are both intellectual scientists, Senku commends Dr. Xeno’s command over Science is better than his. Senku and Dr.Xeno have different approaches to Science.
Dr.Xeno considers Science elegant. However, he has an elitist perspective, believing that Science is a tool for ruling over others. He supports the use of weapons and other scientific advancements to attain power. He even considers the branch of Science used by the Kingdom of Science inferior.
Meanwhile, Senku doesn’t believe that Science is something for the elite; it can be practiced by anyone, anywhere. He doesn’t support using weaponry to rule over others, as seen in Treasure Island.
For example, even the gun they had created on the Island wasn’t meant for mass destruction or creating chaos. It was merely created to threaten Medusa away from Ibara’s group.
Where there is Darkness, there is Light. Similarly, Dr.Xeno takes a darker approach to Science than Senku.
