Who is Dex in Dynasty Season 5?

After premiering Season 5 in December 2021, Dynasty is finally back with a regular weekly airing schedule.

Last we saw Alexis find herself in a sticky situation (as she often does) being blamed for the death of one Dr. Bobby Larson. Fortunately, she was rescued by a character who would be her new knight in shining armor.

Yup, I’m talking about Dex. So, who exactly is he?

In Dynasty Season 5 Episode 3, Dex Dexter is introduced as a character who helps exonerate Alexis of Dr. Larson’s death. Now as a series regular, he is also predicted to be her love interest/husband.

Pej Vehdat has been confirmed to be part of the season’s supporting cast for more episodes and I bet you’re curious to know more about Dex’s potential storylines on the show. Here we go:

Will Dex be Alexis’ love interest?

What a fascinating way in which Dex is introduced to Dynasty’s ongoing Season 5! So, Amanda realizes that there’s a drone constantly flying around Alexis’ penthouse.

It could be an annoying case of someone trying to spy on her mother, but Amanda decides to put her investigative skills to better use—acquire the drone’s footage to prove Alexis is innocent of Dr. Larson’s death.

Amanda finally finds that the drone is being operated from an apartment owned by Farnsworth “Dex” Dexter. Thankfully it’s not Dex being a creep, but his nephew Timmy’s unadulterated curiosity that has been fueling the drone.

With the help of the drone footage, Alexis is able to exonerate herself.

Amanda then formally introduces Dex to Alexis during a Carrington Gala, but lo and behold, the two already have known each other for ages. Turns out, Dex’s father Sam once was even on the board of Carrington Atlantic.

If you’re a fan of the original Dynasty series (or even heard about it), you will know that Dex Dexter is an important character, especially since he goes on to be Alexis’ third husband. They have a tumultuous romance, but then again, who doesn’t in Dynasty?

I expect that Dex will assume a similar role in the reboot as well. He is set to appear in more episodes henceforth and will rise to be an important supporting cast member. Just exactly how he will be reinvented for the 2022 version of Dynasty is yet to be seen.
