The White Lotus has traveled all the way to Sicily, but it is still not rid of all the chaos and drama that will ultimately lead to the deaths of its guests. We’re ushered into season 2 by the familiar faces of Tanya and Greg who survived season 1.
Clearly, S1’s death did not deter the married couple as they’re back again vacationing at yet another White Lotus resort. Perhaps the Sicily branch will teach them a lesson?
The White Lotus S2 opens up with the deaths of some of its guests at the Sicily location. As of now, their identities remain hidden, however it is theorized that Harper and Ethan Spiller, Dominic Di Grasso, and Portia may be the guests that get murdered.
So yes, just like S1 we have no clue about who’s the murderer and who, in turn, gets murdered. Uncovering this mystery is exactly what keeps the viewer hooked right up to the very end!
(That, and the idiosyncrasies of the guests and all their interactions).
As of Episode 4, let’s look into each character to figure out who dies at the end of the season. The characters are listed in a descending order of most likely to die/get murdered.
1. Daphne Sullivan
Daphne is the most unlikely to die because she is seen alive at beginning of The White Lotus S2, as the one who discovers the bodies.
Daphne is a super interesting character who knows how to play her part as the trophy wife and achieve her own goals. Like I said previously, she’s also someone capable of committing murder while wearing Prada and a pretty smile.
Not only did Cam cheat on her with Lucia, the promos also tease him buttering up Harper, while Ethan tries to do the same with Daphne. Will the boys’ petty fight drive Daphne over to the edge of murder? I could see that happening.
2. Valentina
Next, we come to our new manager, Valentina. She too won’t die as we see she’s alive after the dead bodies have been reported.
Season 1 has already covered the conflicts between the hotel management and guests, so Valentina’s story may have something altogether new to offer to S2.
Now that episode 4 has revealed that Valentina may have some romantic feelings for Isabella, could one of the deaths be related to this storyline?
3. Bert Di Grasso
Bert, as the womanizing grandfather, seems like an easy character to kill. However, the show won’t do that.
Bert’s storyline is the only one so far without any drama — the grandpa is simply minding his business and enjoying a nice holiday in Sicily. Plus, since he hasn’t been given a lot of screen time, his death wouldn’t have that much impact on the audience.
4. Albie Di Grasso
Albie is unlikely to die at the end of The White Lotus. At first, everyone thought this would be because he is too young and his death would surely make the audience angry.
However in the past few episodes, people have been divided about his personality — Is it just a guy who’s too awkward and polite for his own good, or does he have the makings of an incel? Will he finally snap and do something that results in his own or another character’s death?
While we’re still trying to figure it out, I don’t think Albie will die. On the other hand, I do think he could accidentally cause someone’s death.
5. Cameron Sullivan
Cam is a massive prick, but he sits right in the middle of the to-die speculation list. My gut tells me that Cam won’t die, embodying the real-world irony of how most snobby people don’t get punished for their bad deeds.
He’s just going to get on your nerves, and he won’t even get murdered for it!
I do think he’ll play a massive role in causing someone else’s death, most likely Ethan or Harper’s (or both). He has an uneasy relationship with Harper, and is fueling a dangerous feud with Ethan… this is one storyline that won’t end well!
PS: I do pray for the off-chance of Daphne/Harper/Ethan murdering him but I know that’s a long shot.
6. Tanya McQuoid-Hunt and Greg Hunt
As of Episode 4, Tanya’s befriended a gaggle of gay men, who, fans suspect, are about to fleece her for her money. Some even believe they might outright murder her. However, I think there’s a 50/50 chance that Tanya may live till the end of the season.
I’ve grouped Greg with Tanya because like Grandpa Bert, he hasn’t had much screen time. The audience will not be that invested in him whether he lives or dies. But since he too has been cheating on Tanya, his fate may be a glass half-empty situation.
7. Lucia and Mia
I will admit that both Lucia and Mia are being quite reckless right now, what with Lucia trying to seduce Albie and Mia almost killing the pianist by accidently giving them drugs. They also seem to be buzzing around Ethan and Cam which will definitely not end well.
At the beginning of season, I believed that the show wouldn’t kill off sex workers. Now I’m not sure.
There’s a small chance that Lucia and Mia will survive The White Lotus S2 by an inch of their lives.
8. Portia
Initially I thought it would be Tanya’s unpleasant attitude towards Portia that would cause some kind of scene. However, Portia is digging enough holes for herself to end up on the most-likely-to-be-dead list.
She isn’t being sincere with Albie, has stirred up a new romance with a complete stranger and is overall very nihilistic about life. There’s just something about Portia’s vibe that makes me feel we’ll find her dead in the water.
9. Dominic
Three generations of Di Grasso men have come to discover their ancestral roots in Sicily, but perhaps not all of them will make it out alive. Each of them have their own storylines going on, which makes the show quite interesting.
Among all the Di Grasso men, Dominic is the most likely to die. There is a huge chance that his death could be accidental or by suicide.
While Dominic fits the bill of the cheating husband as per the Testa di Morro’s legend, I don’t think his cheating will play a role in his death. Rather, it could be his guilt that drives him to take his own life.
10. Harper and Ethan Spiller
Sadly, out of all the characters, Harper and Ethan are mostly likely to die at the end of The White Lotus S2. Their scenes are filled with the most tension and the couple often finds themselves in precarious situations.
By getting themselves involved with the Sullivans and their mind games, they’re become easy targets. The Sullivans have also managed to divide them up, with Ethan honoring Cam’s “bro code,” and Daphne poisoning Harper’s mind and making her distrust Ethan.
If I were in their place, I’d be honest with my partner and get rid of the Sullivans stat!
