As a seinen series about war, Kingdom has a lot of characters going into battle, never to return.
If you’re a battle shonen fan, you’re probably in the habit of expecting dead characters coming back all the time, but with Kingdom, death is taken slightly more seriously.
Season 1 of Kingdom, the anime, saw multiple deaths like that of Hyou, Jo Kan, and Muta. You can read my whole list of important character deaths in season 1 here.
Likewise, season 2 which finished airing in 2014, has its fair share of deaths, and in this article, I’ll take you through the most prominent ones.
1. Does Shi Ka die in Kingdom season 2?
Shi Ka dies in episode 9 of season 2 as part of Ei Sei’s flashback. She was the one who helped the prince get out of Zhao and into Qin because of her role as an underground merchant.
Just before reaching Qin, a cavalry from Zhao attacks them, killing all the protectors of the prince except Shi Ka. She is brutally injured but protects him until a patrol from Qin arrives and fight the Zhao soldiers.

Rin Ko had multiple altercations with Shin. He was even struck fatally but seemed to be completely okay later.
He tells Shin about his past, how Ren Pa saved him and he became his sword. He also tells Shin that it was fate that had brought them face-to-face, two warriors with a natural talent for battle.

When Ei Bi commands for more reinforcement in the left and right flanks, the Wei army breaks into the center of the Qin army and targets Ei Bi personally.
This brings Shin to duel Rin Ko for the second time.
