Loki season 2, episode 4, ended on a major cliffhanger, which leaves us wondering about the fate of all the characters in the series. Many are dead, but some might turn up in next week’s episode.
Season 2 begins when the Temporal Loom messed up due to the several branches which were created when Sylvie set the multiverse free by killing He Who Remains. Now, Loki and Mobius have to find a way to fix it. In episode 4, the team tries to fix the look with the help of Victor Timely’s Temporal Aura.
But things do not go as planned, and the episode ends on a major cliffhanger without clearing what happens to Loki, Sylvie, Mobius and the other characters. OB had warned that all of them would die, so that is very much a possibility.
However, given that we still have two more episodes to count on, it is likely that all of the major characters are not dead. Many are expected to make a comeback in the next episode.
As of writing this piece, it is confirmed that Victor Timely, General Dox, and her team members are all dead in Loki season 2, episode 4. They are unlikely to return. All other characters are expected to return in upcoming episodes.
1. Who Dies in Loki Season 2 Episode 4 ?
- General Dox and her team – General Dox and her team do not accept Renslayer’s deal in episode 4. As a result, Renslayer kills everyone in the team, except Brad, with the machine Loki used to torture X-5 previously.
General Dox and her team died before the Temporal Loom explosion, so they are unlikely to return. Moreover, Dox is not a major character, so her death won’t change much in the story.
- Victor Timely – At the end of episode 4, Timely offers to fix the loom himself. But the moment he enters the room where the loom is kept, he is killed by the huge amount of radiation of the time stream. We see him disintegrating into thin air.
It is likely that Victor Timely is officially dead in Loki. His death also took place before the explosion, so he might not return with the other characters who were killed during the explosion.
2. Who Might Return in Loki Season 2?
It is safe to say that most of the main characters are not dead. Characters like Loki, Casey, Sylvie, Mobius and B-15 are the most likely to return.
The Temporal Loom explosion leaves the fate of every other major character in the series hanging, but that’s just to confuse us. If we go by OB’s prediction, everyone in the room died in the explosion. But that way, we will be done with the story with two episodes to go.
The initial Loki season 2 trailers include many scenes we have not seen in the series yet, so there is more to it than we know. It is impossible that Loki killed off all its main characters with two episodes left. We’re in the MCU, not in Westeros.
3. What Happens to the Characters in Loki?
One possibility is that the Temporal Loom explosion transported the characters to various points in the multiverse timeline, or they are transported back to where they were before they were brought in from their timelines to work for the TVA.
For instance, the season 2 trailer has a scene which features Hunter B-15 as a doctor. Maybe he has been sent off to a different point in the timeline where he is now a doctor.
One of the themes of this season is the TVA members coming to terms with the fact that they’re all variants and have their own places in the multiverse. It might be time for them to discover what their lives could have been if not for the TVA.
We’ll get to know who comes back and who is gone forever in next week’s episode of Loki. Stay tuned!
