Betrayal isn’t always easy when it comes to the betrayer and the betrayed. But Ousama Rankings takes betrayal on a whole different level.
First off, many viewers didn’t see the big twist coming. So, when the show pulled it off, people were left stunned.
“What the heck?! Where did that come from?” is the response of many people after watching the scene where the show revealed the traitor. So, without further ado, let’s discuss the traitor in Ousama Rankings.
Who Betrayed Bojji in Ousama Rankings?
Domas betrayed Bojji in Ousama Rankings. He is one of the “Big Four” of Bosse’s Kingdom and is Bojji’s fencing instructor.
It comes as a shock to many because Domas appears to be an upright man who’ll always follow the rules. He does follow his superior’s orders perfectly. But this time, his morals swayed and obeyed King Daida’s orders to assassinate Prince Bojji.
The betrayal was so shocking to him that he went mad! He laughed, cried, and regretted pushing Bojji to the fiery “Gateways of Hell”! At the end of the day, he values King Daida’s trust in him rather than sweet Prince Bojji’s life.
Domas is a fencing instructor. He wants his students to utilize the fencing techniques he will teach them. As such, he resents protecting his pupils since that would mean they did not learn the swordsmanship styles he taught them.
If his students can’t protect themselves, Domas failed as a fencing instructor; that’s his thought process. Hence, it’s an insult to him if he’ll still protect his pupils after teaching them everything and anything they’d need to know about fencing.
Also, when Domas was teaching Bojji swordsmanship, he realized Bojji is helpless. Instead of concentrating on the fencing techniques, Prince Bojji is drawing castles on the ground with a stick. Meanwhile, his other pupil, Prince Daida, shows promise.
Daida may be younger than Bojji, but the kid is strong, smart, and shows potential! Domas is even pleased when he sparred with Daida because the young king is fierce to be reckoned with, unlike the tamed Prince Bojji.
Will Domas Ever Return to Bojji’s side?
In the recent episodes of the anime, Domas did show remorse for pushing Bojji on the “Gateways of Hell” cliff. He regretted what he’s done to Prince Bojji and even went to save Hokuro (one of Prince Bojji’s sign language interpreters) from Queen Hilling’s execution.
Domas was also relieved of his duties and was exiled from King Bosse’s royal court. But when he heard the news that Prince Bojji is alive and training in the Underworld, he had a change of heart. He rejoiced!
It doesn’t matter to him anymore whether Prince Bojji forgave him. What’s important to him right now is Bojji’s alive and training to become strong.
Viewers can see that Domas is trying to redeem himself. But it’s only by following King Bosse’s orders that he can do this. This is Domas’ way of apologizing to the royal family.
As soon as he and Hokuro destroy the entrance to the Underworld, there’s a chance for Domas to continue living on and be forgiven by Prince Bojji someday.
