Frostpunk 2 might be just a survival city building game, but it certainly is more challenging than other alternatives. You need to give an attention to detail and have fast decision-making skills. Basically, you need to be good at multitasking. Frostpunk 2 comes with several difficulty settings. If you are wondering which one is right for you, check out this guide.
Difficulty Levels in Frostpunk 2
Here are the difficulty levels in Frostpunk 2:
- Citizen
- Officer
- Steward
- Captain
Every difficulty level varies in terms of available resources, weather conditions, population, etc. You cannot change the difficulty level once the campaign has started. If you want to switch to another difficulty level, you have to restart the campaign.
Citizen
It is the easiest difficulty level in Frostpunk 2. It is best recommended for beginners. You can easily progress in the game while still facing some challenges.
Officer
It is slightly more difficult than Citizen. If you have a basic understanding of how Frostpunk 2 works, you should go for this setting. The resources will be limited and the population demands will be significantly high. However, there’s plenty of room for error.
Steward
This is the second-highest difficulty level in Frostpunk 2. There will be extremely harsh weather, scarce resources and a population who just can’t be happy. If you consider yourself an expert, then go for it.
Captain
It is the most difficult level. Many players don’t even go for this setting since there is absolutely no place for mistakes. You will be faced with one problem after another. Only those who have completed the game at least once should try out this difficulty level.
Custom Difficulty Level
Apart from the developer-defined settings, you can also choose a custom one. Players can play around with different aspects to suit their needs.
You can change the following aspects to create custom difficulty:
Aspect | Description |
Economy | Determines the needs of the population, the time under which you must solve a crisis, and the availability of resources. |
Weather | Controls the severity of cold seasons and the frequency and length of whiteouts. |
Frostland | Dictates the scarcity of population, food, and resources. |
Society | Influences how manageable the population is, how easy it is to satisfy them and how difficult it is to pass laws. |
