The deaths in A Quiet Place were indeed quite tragic. At the beginning of the first film, we lost the youngest son of the Abbott family, and towards the end, we lost Lee, aka John Krasinski, to the alien monsters.
So if you’re a John Krasinski fan, I just want to say… get over it. The punch in the get you felt when you saw that scene added to the mind-blowing experience of the film. The grit and realism would’ve been a little less if not for deaths.
Either way, the question remains who dies in A Quiet Place 2.
The Abbott family and Emmett are alive, and nobody amongst them dies. However, it is safe to assume that the alien monster has killed the people on the island!
Perhaps one of the reasons A Quiet Place Part II wasn’t as impactful to me was that there were no major deaths. I know that sounds sadistic, but think about it only when you see someone you’re emotionally invested in die will you feel that punch. Okay, that might sound a bit dark, but you’ll know what I mean if you’ve watched Game Of Thrones.
But back to the film. We see characters barely escape the jaws of death, or should I say claws of death, throughout the film. Reagan, the daughter, would’ve been killed if not for Emmett. Marcus, the son, and the baby almost died, but that was due to low oxygen. Finally, all these characters would’ve been dead if not for Reagan’s high-frequency amplifying hearing aid.
But despite these, there were a few deaths on and off-screen. Emmett tells Evelyn, the mother, that he lost his kids on day 1 of the attacks. Following that, 11 weeks later, he lost his wife too because of an illness.
If you’re wondering if those were only deaths, then wait, there’s more. When Emmett and Reagan search for a boat to the dockyard, few people try to kidnap and take Reagan away. Emmett and Reagan make a ‘noisy’ attempt to escape, and they manage to get away with it. Sadly or maybe not so sadly, the people get killed by the monsters.
Here’s where we see one monster on a boat while the other drowning in the water because he can’t swim. That’s a weakness that would’ve gotten it killed.
However, when Emmett and Reagan reach the island, the boat on which the monster was, gets hurled to the island’s bay due to the water current. As a result, all the inhabitants of that place die too. Except, of course, Reagan and Emmett.
However, not all deaths are bad. In this sequel, we see three creatures die. I know the number is less, but it’s better than one, just one, right. Will we see an all-out monster hunt in the third sequel? I guess that’s a bit of a stretch. But I think the third sequel would explore more weaknesses of the alien monsters and even showcase how the survivors exploit them.

Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe reprise their roles from the first film and are joined by newcomers Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou. Krasinski returns for a brief cameo, seen in a flashback set before the first film.
Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.
