Anime Fans worldwide are in for quite the treat as the second week of 2021 provided us with Season 2 of The Promised Neverland. Season 1 ended successfully with an ending that satisfied the viewers as well as made them eager for another season.
The Promised Neverland is set in an orphanage where the orphans have the freedom to do anything they wish to except for venturing out of the orphanage door. However, there are times when a child is adopted and is never to be heard from again.
Season 1 ended with Emma, Ray, and Norman successfully escaping the Orphanage, and season 2 resumes their journey ahead.
1. Season 2 Release Date
The Promised Neverland Season 2 premiered on January 6, according to 2021, to Aniplex of America. 11 episodes have been confirmed for season 2, and new episodes will be released every week on Wednesday, Pacific Time, at 7 AM.
According to the schedule on Funimation, the Japanese simulcast of The Promised Neverland, Season 2, Episode 1 will be free to watch on January 13, 2021.
The new season was previously scheduled to release in October 2020 but got postponed due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
2. About The Promised Neverland
The Promised Neverland is created by Kaiu Shirai. This series debuted in a Weekly Shonen Jump manga in 2016. Licensed by VIZ Media for an English Language release, this series has gained immense popularity, selling 4.2 million copies in a brief period.
It’s set in the year 2045. Emma, an 11-year-old orphan, living in Grace Field House is a self-contained orphanage housing her and 37 other orphans.
The orphans are allowed complete freedom, except to venture beyond the grounds or the gate, which connects the house to the outside world.
One night, Emma comes to know the Orphanage’s truth and its connections to the demons. Determined to break out of Grace Field House, Norman and Emma join with Ray to find a way to escape along with their other siblings.
