Diablo 4’s Helltide event is one of the best endgame activities for earning legendary items. During this event, various chests pop up on the map called Torch Gift of Mystery Chests, which have legendary loot inside them and cost a temporary currency called Cinders, which can be earned during the event.
Locating these chests is tricky, as they don’t appear on the map until you’re near them. They cost 175 Cinders and have legendary loot. They’re scattered all over the map, so locating them can be tedious. All of their locations will be listed below to make the search less time-consuming:

Use the map above to locate all the Helltide Mystery Chests successfully and earn that Legendary loot. If you’re still having confusion regarding the locations of these chests, images of the chest locations will be given region-wise below to make them easier to locate:
I. Scosglen Helltide Mystery Chest Locations
II. Dry Steppes Helltide Mystery Chest Locations
III. Kehjistan Helltide Mystery Chest Locations
IV. Hawezar Helltide Mystery Chest Locations
V. Fractured Peaks Helltide Mystery Chest Locations
These are all the Helltide Mystery Chest locations, region-wise. Before you set out on your journey to find these chests, there are a few things that you should remember:
- The Helltide event lasts for an hour and has a gap of 1 hour and 15 minutes before starting again.
- The chests won’t appear on the map unless you get closer to them.
- These mystery chests tend to relocate when the real-time clock hits a full hour.
- Sometimes Helltide occurs in 2-3 zones at a time, which means that 2-3 mystery chests can be available together in different zones.
Helltide will be unlocked only after completing the campaign (World Tier 3), which is why it’s an endgame event. Those who have finished the campaign can participate in the event when it starts, but be careful, as it can be pretty challenging if you’re not equipped well enough, but the loot is totally worth it.
Keep an eye out for glowing red enemies, as they might drop cinders. Plants and ore nodes sometimes drop cinder as loot, but defeating a Helltide Commander will 100% grant you Aberrant Cinders, and there’s a high chance of them dropping legendary items too, so keep defeating these bosses to farm cinders.
When Helltide starts, an area of the map will be deep red, indicating the beginning of the event. It lasts for an hour, but if you’re wondering when it begins, check out the player-made Diablo 4 Helltide Timer to know exactly when the event starts. This will help you make sure that you’re ready to battle as soon as the event starts.
