You’re playing a game, exploring the world the devs have created for you, and suddenly, out of nowhere, you spot it—an Easter Egg. Your mouth curls into a slight smirk before you completely forget about blowing out the brains of the enemy in front of you.
Games are filled with Easter Eggs and references to other franchises and pieces of media. Far Cry 6 is no exception to this. In fact, one of the biggest Easter Eggs is a nod at one of Steven Spielberg’s classic creations. The Mesozoic Park. I recently visited it and I must say, it has got to be one of the best places where I found the most fun Easter Eggs I’ve found in any game off-late. It’s evident that a lot of time and love went into including this in Far Cry 6, and I wanted you all to experience it as well. So, here’s how you can find it.
Where is the Mesozoic Park?
Mesozoic Park is an area you can find by accepting the “Mesozoico” Special Operation from Lola. Lola can be found only in main guerrilla campsites. You will have to have completed some initial story missions in the region of Yara before you can take on this Special Operation.
The park itself is enormous and has a lot to explore. I was blown away by the attention to detail that went into creating this section of the game. I only had two complaints: the first being that you can only access this area through the Special Operation, and the second is that there were no actual dinosaurs.
You can take your time to explore the park, but if you want to know more about the Special Operations and how to complete “Mesozoico,” read on below.
What are Far Cry 6 Special Operations?
“Operations” is the term Far Cry 6 uses for its missions. These are spread out across the map and can be accessed by traveling to the location and speaking with the concerned mission-giver. Special Operations are different, as they can only be accessed through Lola.
You will have the option to play the Special Operation solo, with an online friend or with an online stranger picked at random. Once you select a Special Operation, you will be shown a cutscene explaining the mission before you are automatically transported to the location.
Special Operations brings a nice change of pace to the usual travel-and-task type gameplay Far Cry is known for. The addition of co-op is also appreciated as now both you and a friend can explore the Jurassic Park knock-off during the “Mesozoico” Special Operation.
Mesozoico Special Operation
Upon starting the “Mesozoico” Special Operation, you will be shown a cutscene where Lola explains that Anton Castillo has created a chemical weapon labeled PG-240X to break the revolution. Dani’s job in the mission will be to steal this weapon.
Sounds easy, right? Well, the catch is that the weapon has to be kept cool; otherwise, Dani will become a fine, red mist. Given that Yara is a Caribbean island, it receives a lot of sun, and the temperatures are pretty high. So, your job is to keep the weapon cool by sticking to the shade and using the water fountains around the park to prevent it from overheating.
The park is also filled with guards, so it’s best to be wary as you explore around. You will have to take down an FND commander to get a key. This key will allow you to access the PG-240X found in the visitor center of the park.
Having acquired the payload, make your way back to the extraction zone exploding, where Lola will tell you she’s having some difficulty. At this point, you will have to fight off a wave of guards, all the while making sure the PG-240X doesn’t overheat. After you have killed all the guards, you will have finished the “Mesozoico” Special Operation.
Mesozoico Special Operation Loot
While exploring Mesozoic Park is a reward in itself, you do get a little extra for your troubles of transporting a highly volatile radioactive weapon while fighting for your life. A jacket! Specifically, completing this Special Operation will net you the ‘Decontaminant Jacket,’ along with some Moneda that can be used to purchase things from Lola’s Black Market.
There’s a lot more left for me to explore in Far Cry 6, so after this mission, the bar has been set really high on the kind of Easter Eggs I want to experience. If you’re looking for a Treasure Hunt that will net you a new Supremo, a new gun, and a stealthy new Amigo, check out the Triada Blessings Treasure Hunt guide.
I’ll make a note of all the other cool stuff I continue to find in Far Cry 6, so don’t forget to check back; you never know what might help you git gud.
