How to find locations of Buddha’s Eyeball and defeat Shigandang boss in Black Myth: Wukong

There are several secret quests in Black Myth: Wukong. These aren’t part of the main storyline so players often miss them. Most of the time, upon completing them, you will receive a rare item or face a tough boss. So, on today’s secret mission, we are on the hunt for Buddha’s eyeballs.

Buddha’s Eyeballs are rare Key Items you find scattered around Yellow Wind Ridge. There are six of them placed on the heads of Buddha statues. It can be tricky to find every single one so here’s a list of their locations:

  • Fright Cliff – Squall Hideout shrine
  • Fright Cliff – Squall Hideout (right side)
  • Fright Cliff – Squall Hideout (left side)
  • Along the main road towards Rockrest Flat
  • Fright Cliff – Squall Hideout (inside cave)
  • Rockrest Flat shrine

1. Buddha’s Eyeball Location 1

The first Eyeball is pretty easy to locate. Just head towards Squall Hideout shrine. Stay on the main path and you will soon spot a Buddha head in front of you.

This is just before the Rockrest Flat shrine. There’s another path leading to a cave on the left. Head through it until you encounter the Mother of Stones. The fight is optional– you can either do it now or leave it for later.

Take a right and follow the light through the cave. At the very edge of the cliff, you will find the Buddha statue.

How to use Buddha’s Eyeballs?

Once you have collected all six Buddha’s Eyeballs, take a left from the Rockrest Flat shrine. Find the Rock Clash Platform arena. This is where your secret boss fight will take place.

Initially, this arena will spawn the Stone Vanguard boss. However, if you interact with the rock in the arena and use Buddha’s Eyeballs, the Shigandang boss will spawn instead.

If you want to watch a good fight, summon them both and sit back as they battle against each other.

How to defeat Shigandang?

Shigandang is a secret Yaoguai King boss. He appears in the same arena as the Stone Vanguard boss but their difficulty levels are unmatched. However, they do have similar moves.

The most common one is that before a few stone attacks, the boss will start glowing before exploding. As soon as you see a radiant light, it is your cue to step back. If hit, the damage can be severe.

The boss will also get on all fours and rush forward. If you don’t sprint right when it begins, it will be tough to outrun Shigandang.

When attacking from the front, be sure to take a step back every now and then since the boss is prone to do backhanded sweeps.

If Shigandang leaps into the air, it will come down with a massive force and shoot up a stone pillar. It will glow before exploding so run around to either side to avoid.

He will also summon rock pillars by jumping up. As he lands and slams his fists into the ground, a shockwave of rock will take over. However, this attack takes a few seconds so use this time to deliver some heavy combos.

As the boss’ health is running low, you can use the Azure Dust Transformation to take on the Rock Guai form. Build up Might and lastly, perform a Rockfall attack. It will finish off whatever of his health is left.
