Agni is a large lizard-type A-Rank Notorious Mark in Final Fantasy 16. It was once a peaceful and harmonious creature, but unfortunately it was turned and corrupted by the Akashic, and now it’s up to Clive and his allies to stop it from doing more damage to Valisthea.
The Agni Hunt will pop up on the Hunt Board while the Brotherhood main quest is in progress. Fortunately, you won’t have much difficulty finding this creature as the Hunt Board will point you towards the right path, but its exact location will still be mentioned below just to make it easier for you.
Agni is located in the kingdom of Waloed, on the southeastern corner of Valisthea. Fast Travel to The Edge of Infinity Obelisk, then head North towards Halfcombe from the Obelisk and continue along the path, and you’ll soon reach the Notorious Mark.
On your path, you’ll come across a dead end. Don’t leave just yet, as there will be a Fallen Chest that contains Adamantine Gauntlets. This will increase your health by 500 HP, and trust me, you’re going to need that before the fight.
1. How to defeat Agni in Final Fantasy 16?
Agni is a lizard-type Notorious Mark, and at this point in the game, you’ve already encountered two enemies like it, but Agni still packs a punch. Dodging is your go-to, so watch out for its attacks, spins, and slams and dodge whenever needed.
Here are some tips to defeat it:
- Agni’s basic melee moves can be simply dodged, so you don’t need to worry about them much.
- Agni uses a move called Collider, in which it hurls itself rolling towards Clive and deals huge amounts of damage. The beast will do this move three times before delivering the finishing blow with a body slam. Use Precision Dodge to dodge sideways and avoid getting hurt. Time your dodges perfectly, and after it delivers the slam, unleash all your Eikonic abilities on the creature.
- Agni has another move called Firewater, in which it shoots out fire from its mouth towards Clive. To dodge it, simply move to the side.
- Some of Agni’s attacks are delayed, baiting players into getting their timing all wrong. Be wary of those delayed attacks and play patiently; otherwise, you’ll mess up your dodges and timing and risk getting damaged.
