The Book of Boba Fett picks up after the finale of Season 2 of The Mandalorian, and Season 3 of the show starts immediately after the former. Mando appears in The Book of Boba Fett with a Darksaber and no Grogu, indicating a crossover between the series.

It occurs in 9 ABY (After the Battle of Yavin), nine years after the events of A New Hope, like the other seasons of the show. It has been five years after the defeat of the Empire and the establishment of a Republic in The Last Jedi.

The Mandalorian is an American space western TV series on Disney+, created by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni. The show aired its first episode on November 12, 2019, and is two seasons in with an upcoming Season 3.

The show follows the story of one of the Mandalorians from the famed Star Wars Universe, Din Djarin. After the fall of the Galactic Empire, he is hired to retrieve Grogu, known as “The Child,” from the Impreial forces, but ends up going on the run to protect him from Moff Gideon, a former Imperial Officer.

The show stars Pedro Pascal in the lead along with actors Carl Weathers, Gioncarlo Esposito, Gina Carano, Amid Abtahi and Katee Sackhoff.
