Before moving on to previous seasons, let’s talk about the latest Young Sheldon episode that aired on CBS. Young Sheldon returned on CBS after almost a month-long hiatus. Episode 9 is out now and aired on CBS on January 5, 2023, at 8 PM ET in the United States.
Now that Young Sheldon is back, The Big Bang Theory will be on hiatus for two weeks. CBS will air reruns of Young Sheldon in that time slot.
In case you don’t have a cable subscription to CBS, you can watch Young Sheldon through streaming platforms such as Paramount +, FuboTV, Hulu with Live TV, YouTube TV, or DirecTV stream.
The previous Season 6 episodes (Episodes 1-8) are available on Paramount+ and FuboTV. You can also watch the latest Young Sheldon episodes on FuboTV as they air, or later on demand.
CBS shows are also available on Paramount+ a day after the TV premiere, so you can catch up on the latest Young Sheldon episode on the platform. As of now, episodes of Young Sheldon Season 6 are not available on HBO Max.

As of now, all seasons of Young Sheldon except the current season are available on HBO Max for streaming. It is likely that all episodes of Season 6 will also be available on HBO Max once it completes its run on television.
You can also watch Young Sheldon on various other streaming platforms, such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video in other countries such as UK, Australia, and Italy. However, Young Sheldon Seasons 1-5 are only available on HBO Max in the US.
Why Young Sheldon Season 6 Is Not on HBO Max
Though Young Sheldon and TBBT as a franchise is owned by Warner Bros, the latest season of Young Sheldon is not available for streaming on HBO Max as I write. The reason isn’t too complicated, though.
As I mentioned, all five previous seasons of Young Sheldon are available on HBO Max. Season 6 will also be available on the platform after it finishes airing on CBS.
My best guess of the reason behind this is that if the episodes are readily available on HBO Max, it might hamper the show’s viewership on television. I mean, most of us would prefer to stream an episode on our own time on a streaming platform than wait for it to be telecast on TV.
To avoid low viewership, the latest episodes of Young Sheldon are not available on HBO Max. This tactic is pretty common in television. For instance, the latest season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine was not immediately available for streaming on Netflix after it finished airing. The same goes for The Bold Type.
However, there are shows like House of the Dragon, the episodes of which were available on HBO Max as soon as they aired on HBO. But it seems like the same isn’t applicable to Young Sheldon. But be rest assured, Young Sheldon Season 6 will arrive on HBO Max sooner or later.
