God of War (2018) is filled to the brim with items and upgrade materials to make Kratos and Atreus as strong as possible. However, some of these resources are trickier to find than others.
Once such material is the Haze Weave – it’s a rare, “indestructible piece of cloth” that you can use to craft or upgrade your equipment with the power of the Cursed Mist for both Kratos and Atreus.
The Haze Weave is a must-have for taking on God of War’s end game content and bosses. But, finding a good amount of it is no easy task. That said, let me explain how to get this resource in God of War.
In God of War (2018), you can obtain Haze Weave by opening all the red and legendary chests scattered across Niflheim (Ivaldi’s Workshop). Keep in mind that it’s a rare drop, so you’ll have to run through Niflheim multiple times to obtain an adequate amount of it.
So, there are three central resources that you can collect throughout your runs of Niflheim – Aesirbane, Haze Weave, and Niflheim Alloy. As for the chests that you can get them from, your chances will increase by a large margin if you can defeat the Valkyrie and open the chests that lay beyond her (Of course, it’s a one-off and would make the run even more difficult).
But, considering how the location keeps changing its layout every time you go for a run, it’s not going to be a walk in the park anyway. That’s why I’ve got some tips to help you glide through Niflheim and obtain the Haze Weave with ease – let’s quickly cover them too.
5 Tips to Make Niflheim Easier – God of War (2018)
I. Don’t Be Too Greedy in Niflheim
One of the most challenging aspects of Niflheim comes from the fact that if you die, you’ll essentially lose everything that you’ve collected in one run.
The deadly poison mist of the place drains Kratos’ HP – that is why I recommend that you go for multiple runs through Niflheim to farm as many Echoes and Resources as possible and bank them at the Workshop or with Sindri without being too greedy.
II. Reset the Maze If the Enemies Are Not the Best
If you encounter a time-consuming enemy (Say, a Revenant) in the starting area only, then I’d suggest resetting the maze till you find some enemies that are easier to take down.
Remember to start slow, open any of the chests that are easy to get, upgrade your gear, rinse and repeat. That is the key to coming out on top of Niflheim.
III. Try to Obtain the Niflheim Armor as Soon as You Can
If you wish to survive for long in Niflheim, then you have to get the mist armor pieces as soon as possible. Their abilities will ensure your survival in the maze for much longer than any other set.
I recommend going for a complete Deadly Mist set as the overall stat boost would be much more helpful than a boost in just vitality or some other stat.
On the other hand, you can also collect the resources like Haze Weave to infuse your existing armor sets with the power of the cursed mist – it’s your call here on whatever you find easier to do.
IV. Go for Brutal Kills and Use Atreus’ Blue Arrows
So, this may seem a bit weird at first, but hear me out. You can (and probably should) put your weapons aside and just beat the enemies in the maze with your bare fists.
Bashing your enemies with the fists would actually stun your enemies and allow you to get the Brutal Kills with ease. On the other hand, you can also use Atreus’ Blue Arrows to stun them and get the Brutal Kill even quicker.
V. Ignore the Realm Tears for Some Time
So, sealing the Realm Tears is the main objective of going through Niflheim. However, I’d advise you to ignore these and continue collecting resources and echoes till you’re properly upgraded and satisfied.
I say this because closing the Tears takes around 20000 echoes, and you’ll have to fight the Valkyrie boss fight as well, which, if you’re ill-equipped, would be considerably harder than the Maze itself.
