Obtaining the Black Knife Tiche – Spirit Ashes Location – Elden Ring

Navigating through the woods of Lands Between in Elden Ring is a daunting task, to say the least. The tiniest enemies can defeat you if you don’t remain alert and cautious.

Fortunately, there are various weapons, skills, and items you can obtain in order to wander through the wild. One of the most powerful tricks in your bag is the Spirit Ash which summons allies to provide backup amidst battles.

Although the Mimic Tear was a fan favorite and the most potent Spirit Ash, the developer team of FromSoftware nerfed it with the release of patch 1.03. As a result, another Spirit Ash has come up for its crown, the Black Knife Tiche.

You can find the Black Knife Tiche in Elden Ring by completing Ranni’s questline for the Moonlight Greatsword and heading to the Moonlight Altar. Subsequently, you’ll have to demolish the Black Knife Ringleader boss, Alecto, in the Ringleader’s Evergaol.

Without a doubt, the Black Knife Tiche summon is well-suited for the enemies you fight towards the later part of the game. Moreover, it’s rapidly gaining recognition and popularity in the Elden Ring gaming community.

Here’s a detailed guide to help you find the Black Knife Tiche Spirit Ash in Elden Ring.

Step #1 – Finish Ranni’s Questline

Finish Ranni’s Questline

The mention of Ranni’s questline is enough to let players know that obtaining the Black Knife Tiche won’t be easy!

Players need to finish Ranni’s questline in order to make a difference in the journey of procuring the Spirit Ash. Serving the four-armed witch will grant you much-needed access to the Moonlight Altar Site of Grace.

Finishing such a questline isn’t easy. Moreover, it will take you a few sittings to get through a series of challenging boss fights to gain entry into this restricted southern region of Liurnia.

Step #2 – Head to Ringleader’s Evergaol

Head to Ringleader’s Evergaol

After reaching the Moonlight Altar, progress in the northwest direction towards the Ringleader’s Evergaol. Your cue to understand that you’ve reached the location is the appearance of a group of unfamiliar rock worms and a massive silver metal plate plowed into the ground.

Furthermore, players run low risks of running into enemies in this area because most hazardous dragons are present in the southwestern corner of this region.

Upon getting to the Evergaol, head towards the center circle and make your character interact with it. A dialogue box will appear next asking you to accept your entry into the primary boss arena. Accept it and prepare for battle!

Step #3 – Kill the Black Knife Ringleader

Kill the Black Knife Ringleader

Since it’s the last step in the journey for acquiring the Black Knife Tiche in Elden Ring, it’s a tricky sequence. Players need to destroy Alecto, the Black Knife Ringleader, without the aid of the co-op mode or summons.

The Black Knife Ringleader is lightning quick and can cover the distance between you and herself in a matter of seconds. Her blows consume a significant portion of your health points, and it’s troublesome to dodge her fast-paced combos. You may get killed if you fall prey to any of her attacks.

Alecto is capable of launching a flaming curve projectile that doesn’t just deal damage on impact but also costs you HP over time. Besides, she can also curate a relatively larger Area of Effect (AoE) attack where her opponents start getting hit with the flaming projectile from all directions.

Players can overpower Alecto by using the openings they get when she’s making a move to launch an impactful counterattack.

Such an opening arrives when she performs an overhead helmsplitter, jumps into the air, and pierces her sword into the ground. Players can effortlessly dodge this blow by rolling to your left or right.

The other opportunity presents itself during a grab when Alecto leans forward and stretches her hands in an attempt to grab you and kill you instantly. Again, players can step backward and use this chance to land a blow.

Lastly, the Black Knife Ringleader’s AoE attack will leave her vulnerable for a while after it wears off. Nonetheless, this blow can be tough to capitalize on as your primary priority in such a case should be to save yourself.

Upon successfully killing Alecto, you’ll receive the Black Knife Tiche.

Tips to Defeat the Black Knife Ringleader

Elden Ring Spells

To defeat Alecto, the Black Knife Ringleader, you should opt for Strength weapons or a Frostbite build as it can help you crack her poise.

Players who play as a mage should let go of slow-casting spells because the fight won’t last long enough to use them. It would help if you utilized spells such as Greatblade Phalanx, Glintblade Phalanx, and Carian Phalanx, as apart from reducing her poise, they passively deal damage.

If you don’t possess the option to fight with Moonveil and Wings of Astel, the Carian Slicer is an intelligent alternative!
