Marvel Studios has been releasing new content this year faster than fans can consume. With Phase 4 introducing brand new superheroes to the MCU, you can bet it’ll only keep on getting bigger.
So far, we’ve seen a variety of new heroes like Shang-Chi, Yelena Belova, Monica Rambeau, Billy and Tommy, among others. Joining the list next is Kate Bishop in the upcoming Hawkeye series and Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel.
The two series mentioned above were set for premieres one after the other by the end of this year. Hawkeye got a release date for November and a trailer recently. However, with no official new updates on Ms. Marvel, fans began to suspect that it won’t be released this year.
Now, movie insider Amit Chaudhari has tweeted that Ms. Marvel could be released in February 2022 on Disney+.
Iman Vellani stars as Kamala Khan in the series that will serve as the origin story for her superhero alter ego, Ms. Marvel. An official announcement is yet to be made.
If its release is pushed back, it might be good for the series as it wouldn’t be overshadowed by other Marvel projects releasing later this year, including Eternals, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Hawkeye.
A February release would make Ms. Marvel the first project to launch MCU’s 2022 slate. Ms. Marvel will appear in The Marvels alongside Captain Marvel and might even have a Secret Invasion connection.
Ms. Marvel wrapped up production in May, and so, to say that fans have been waiting a long time would be an understatement. However, 2022 is going to be a good year for Marvel live-action shows with She-Hulk and Moon Knight, among others.
Ms. Marvel will premiere on Disney+ and does not have a release date yet.
About Ms. Marvel
Ms. Marvel is an ongoing American television miniseries created by Bisha K. Ali for the streaming service Disney+, based on the Marvel Comics character Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Kamala is a 16-year-old Muslim Pakistani-American from Jersey City who writes superhero fan fiction, particularly about her idol, Captain Marvel. Having dreamed about becoming a superhero herself, Kamala discovers she has superpowers and dons the mask of Ms. Marvel.
Ms. Marvel will serve as a setup for the film The Marvels (2022), in which Vellani will reprise her role as Kamala. The series is produced by Marvel Studios, with Ali serving as head writer and Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah leading the directing team. Iman Vellani stars as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, with Saagar Shaikh, Aramis Knight, Matt Lintz, Zenobia Shroff, and Mohan Kapur also starring.
