HBO Max’s smashing hit Doom Patrol is back for a fourth season, and the fans are excited.
The previous season of the show was a roller coaster ride. Our not-so-heroes fought off the Candlemaker (voiced by Lex Lang) and mourned the death of their beloved Chief (Timothy Dalton). They then died by the second episode, became undead (as zombies obviously), became un-undead (as in resurrected), and made sure to fight till the last breath.
One of the quirkiest shows based on DC Comics, Doom Patrol has received positive ratings from critics and has been a fan favorite since its release. So much so that HBO Max picked up the series for Season 4, shortly after Season 3 premiered back in September 2021.
The show is set after the events of Titans, a series currently streaming on HBO Max, and already has a spinoff in the works with The Dead Boy Detectives.
Let’s dive into further details of the hit show’s latest season.

3. Doom Patrol Season 4 Plot
Warner Bros. released a synopsis for Season 4 ahead of New York Comic-Con 2022, which goes like:
In the upcoming fourth season, the team unexpectedly travels to the future to find an unwelcome surprise. Faced with their imminent demise, the Doom Patrol must decide once and for all which is more important: their happiness or the fate of the world?
During an interview with SFX Magazine, showrunner Jeremy Carver elaborated on the season’s plot points. He said that Doom Patrol travels to the year 2042 via Madame Rogue’s time machine. There, the team is greeted with a post-apocalyptic world where most of the Doom Patrol members are dead.
In the past seasons, we have spent a good deal of time going back and seeing how our Doom Patrol got here. In this season, we are going to see—in really fun and poignant ways—the Doom Patrol travel to different points of time.

4. Is Doom Patrol worth watching?
Doom Patrol first premiered on February 15, 2019, and has been a fan favorite since then.
It remains one of the most-watched shows on HBO Max and has been successful in maintaining a loyal fanbase.
