All of Us are Dead: Release Date Announced for New Zombie K-drama

From the land of phenomenal zombie apocalyptic projects, comes another zombie thriller—All of Us are Dead.

Teased at Netflix’s TUDUM event, a date announcement teaser trailer for All of Us are Dead is finally out. The series will premiere on the streaming platform on January 28, 2022.

The latest zombie series takes a unique turn from previous apocalyptic projects such as Train to Busan, Kingdom, #Alive and Happiness. All of Us are Dead is set at a university that becomes the hotbed of a virus, tackling students’ psychological and physical struggles as they try to survive the zombie outbreak.

The teaser starts with a student tied up in a corner. A couple of shrieks and bone-breaking moments later, she transforms into a blood-thirsty zombie. Scenes show the vast campus of the school and streets filled with zombies running to find their prey, smashing cars and people.

Unlike cliché shows, military men, similar to S.W.A.T., can also be seen manning a boundary with guns and shields.

We also see a group of students trying their best to survive by sticking together. Scenes of student zombies destroying the library, crowding school hallways and playgrounds show a glimpse into the devastating future the kids might have to face if they don’t escape.

The series offers a new ensemble cast of actors such as Yoon Chan-young (Doctor John), Choi Yi-hyun (Hospital Playlist), Yoo In-soo (At a Distance, Spring is Green), Park Ji-hoo (House of Hummingbird), and Park Solomon (Sweet Revenge)

With K-dramas marking their territory in the blood-thirsty zombie thriller category, expectations are high for All of Us are Dead. More so, because the drama is an adaptation of a webtoon created by Joo Dong-geun titled Now at Our School (which is also the Korean title of the series.)

Loyal fans of the webtoon are excited for a drama adaptation, hoping the writers and directors make it as exciting as the source material.

All of Us are Dead is a Netflix original and will be available to stream from January 28, 2022.

About All of Us are Dead

All of Us are Dead is an upcoming South Korean zombie apocalyptic drama. It is a Netflix Original drama based on a popular horror Naver webtoon titled Now at Our School, created by Joo Dong-geun. 

The eight-episode series is written by Cheon Sung-il of the L.U.C.A.: The Beginning fame and is directed by Lee Jae Gyu of Intimate, Strangers and Beethoven Virus fame. 

The main cast of All of Us are Dead features Park Ji-hoo as Man Ohn-jo, Yoon Chan-young as Lee Cheong-san, Jo Yi-hyun as Choi Nam-ra, Park Solomon as Lee Su-hyuk and Yoo In-soo as Yoon Gwi-nam.

The show revolves around a group of students trying to escape their quarantined school which has become ground zero of a zombie apocalypse.
