Sony sent shockwaves across the gaming community yesterday by confirming the much-anticipated release date of God of War Ragnarok through a cinematic trailer.
With fans now aware that Kratos’ brutal adventures across the nine realms are arriving this November 9, many are heaving a sigh of relief to see the highly anticipated title escape a delay. While this is enough cause for a celebration, Sony didn’t stop here.
They say when it rains, it pours, and the studio further proved it by releasing a new unboxing video along with an official blog to take enthusiasts on a tour where the contents of different editions of God of War Ragnarok are unveiled.
God of War Ragnarok’s pre-orders will start from July 15, 2022, at 7 am PT / 10 am ET, and it will receive four different editions: Launch Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition, Collector’s Edition, and Jötnar Edition.
Note: Upon pre-ordering the game, players will have access to two cosmetics: the Kratos Risen Snow Armor and the Atreus Risen Snow Tunic.
Out of all the offered editions, the ones that stand out the most are Collector’s and Jötnar, which were flaunted by Ryan Hurst, Thor’s voice actor, and Santa Monica Studio Art Director Rafael Grassetti in an unboxing video.
Being the fancy physical packs of the game, both Collector’s and Jötnar editions will arrive in an impressive Knowledge Keeper’s Shrine box featuring breathtaking artwork and a plethora of goodies, including a 16” highly-detailed Mjölnir Replica.

About God of War Ragnarok
God of War Ragnarok is an action-adventure game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was released on November 9, 2022, for PS4 and PS5.
Ragnarok is the ninth installment in the God of War series, chronologically, and the sequel to 2018’s God of War. Loosely based on Norse mythology, the game is set in ancient Norway and features series protagonists Kratos and his young son Atreus. The events of the game are expected to initiate Ragnarok – a series of events that, according to Norse lore, bring about the end of days and the death of the Norse gods.
