After a somewhat uneventful episode last week, “Cigarettes, Whiskey, a Meadow and You” is refreshing and delivers a picturesque reminder of why the environment is a place worth protecting.
The Duttons continue their makeshift vacation in the ranch while Jamie and Sarah keep plotting how to beat Jamie’s father in the elections.
The next episode will surely have a bombshell, as it will be the last episode before the show takes an indefinite pause.
So, without much ado, let’s be Sherlocking!
Season 5, Episode 7 Speculation
The next episode will be the last episode of the year before the show takes an indefinite hiatus. We must remember that Kevin Costner is known for ending creatives with big, jaw-dropping moments. Based on the story so far, there are several ways the show could go from here.
Firstly, John Dutton’s political future could be in jeopardy. Fans will surely understand that he has not been his old workaholic self of late. The branding fiasco and the troubles surrounding Beth have kept him away from the office for a long time.
Its high time he understands that political power is a fickle friend. It can’t be tamed for long. I think his downfall in politics is nearing with every passing episode.
Let’s address the elephant in the room; Jamie is living together with Sarah! This guy’s foolishness will cost the Duttons everything they have!
Sarah will extract every bit of information about the Duttons and push hard to make Jamie the Governor. Jamie will turn against his own family, and Market Equities will finally have their way.
I hope this doesn’t happen, but will Jamie turn against his own father to gain a political high ground? There are several hints in this week’s episode which suggest so.
Firstly, I feel Jamie will blame his father for Emmett’s death to gain people’s sympathy. Emmett’s death will be dragged long into future episodes.
In this week’s episode, Sarah tells Jamie,” I don’t think we can let him show up to the fight, Jamie.” Are they planning a murder? Maybe this is the twist Kevin Costner has in his mind!
Stay tuned next week to watch this year’s finale.

Season 5, Episode 6 Recap
The episode starts with the Broken Rock Indian Reservation killing innocent animals for fun. The brutal scenes are unbearable to watch as we see Mo explaining that they are being done because the President is scheduled to arrive.
Do Presidents come so abruptly? Don’t they provide a prior notice long before they arrive?
Meanwhile, the romantic barter between Jamie and Sarah takes a turn when Sarah confides her ulterior motives in him. She says that she is sleeping with Jamie because she wants him to steal his dad’s post and help get the airport project back on track.
Given the steamy shower scene that follows, it seems like Jamie is totally on board with the plan.
Meanwhile, most of the Duttons seem to enjoy their time on the Dutton ranch. Kayce and Tate get some quality father-son time, while Beth and Rip seem to have sorted out their small altercation.
Everything is not picture-perfect, though. John’s ‘old bastard’ friend Emmett falls asleep by a tree and doesn’t wake up the next day. John is very sad but also relieved by the fact that his friend got a perfect cowboy send-off.
John and Sarah apparently spend the entire episode having sex. After a rather intimate sequence, Jamie tells Sarah that it will be hard to fight with John. Sarah agrees and says that they can’t let him be in the fight. Something smells fishy here!
