Billions Season 6 has been quite a ride for Chuck Rhoades, but he’s back to where he started. Mike Prince defeated him in the most badass manner. He got Chuck thrown out of New York’s state office and watched the entire court proceedings.
In the season finale, we see Chuck’s dad and his friends celebrate his tenure and try to distract him from the entire fiasco with Mike Prince. However, he’s hell-bent on getting back on his feet and wants to see Mike go down.
Towards the end of Episode 10, the former attorney gets an epiphany, and his spirits are reinvigorated. So, what is brewing in his mind, and what will be his next move against Mike Prince?
Chuck Rhoades will try to induce a fight against Mike Prince in which the odds are in his favor. He might try to entrap Mike like he baited Bobby Axelrod.
Even though Rhoades has been defeated many times, he truly understands his enemies. Bobby and Mike have almost always outsmarted him, but he knows what triggers them and knows what they want.
In the previous season, this is how he had deceived Bobby Axelrod, and there’s a good chance that he’d use similar tactics to trap Mike Prince. In Episode 10, Chuck realizes and tells his father about Mike Prince’s presence in the court.
He tells how Mike could’ve left when the proceedings began, and he could’ve just worked from behind the scenes. But he chose to come to the court and witness the entire spectacle. This gave Chuck insight into how Mike Prince’s mind works.
He understood that Mike Prince likes battles, wars, and conquests. He enjoys devouring anything and anyone that comes between him and his goal. Chuck would most likely leverage this behavior of Mike’s to bring him down.
In the episode, Rhoades takes a metaphorical swing called Ronald Chestnut, who tries to bother his friends and some women accompanying them.
He pulls off a classic move by exposing his prison records, the charges against him, and what his current case looks like, which essentially makes him powerless.
Later, when he’s meditating, an idea strikes him, and when he opens his eyes, they’re glimmering with that same hope and excitement that we’re all familiar with.
Season 7 will be focused on this, and we will most likely see a game of one-upmanship where each tries to destroy the other.
