Featuring Ichiban Kasuga and Kiryu Kazuma as dual protagonists, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth follows the story of the former on his journey to reunite with his mother, with the help of old and new allies while the latter struggles to survive lung cancer. In an RPG like Yakuza, developing stats is crucial.
Willpower is a stat that can be advantageous when developed as it can help you during combat in the game. Here’s what this stat does and how it works in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
1. What is Willpower in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth?
Willpower shows a character’s Defense against Magic-based attacks in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. When fighting multiple mages or enemies that use ranged Magic-based attacks, Willpower reduces the damage a character takes before it subtracts from their health.
Willpower acts similarly to how Defense for Physical Attacks works. Magic-based attacks and skills are unique and different from Physical ones. More Willpower amounts to more damage that you can take from Magic attacks.
2. How to increase Willpower in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth?
There are four ways to increase any stat, including Willpower in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth:
- Leveling Up
- Ranking Up
- Specific Gear
- Growth Items
I. Leveling Up
You’ll be able to gain experience after completing fights successfully, which will increase the level of your character. As you level up, your stats increase. The maximum level you can reach is Level 99.
II. Ranking Up
Your Rank in the game increases within your respective job. Similar to leveling up, jobs will have you taking up multiple fights to rank up.
III. Specific Gear
A lot of gear in the game comes with additional stat bonuses which, when equipped, increase your stats. Gears can be purchased at different shops or found in safes and briefcases in the game.
IV. Growth Items
Growth Items are an easy way to increase any stat you want. These items can be found throughout the game inside safes and briefcases.
3. All Stats in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
Here’s a breakdown of all the stats and what they do in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth:
Stats | Stat Description |
Agility | Agility is your character’s speed in combat. A higher Agility stat means they’re likely to go into combat before others, potentially going multiple times if they have a high enough Agility. |
Attack | Attack is the raw damage a character does with their Physical attacks. These types of attacks are the most common for many Infinite Wealth characters. |
Defense | A character’s Defense determines how much damage is reduced before it hits their health. The higher the Defense a character has, the less damage they will take to their HP. |

Magic | The Magic stat determines how much Magical damage a character can do in Infinite Wealth when they use these attacks against enemies. These are the unique attacks and skills that a character uses that are not Physical ones. |
MP | A character’s MP is showing how many Mana Points they have. The more MP a character has in Infinite Wealth, the more abilities and special attacks they can use in combat. |
