What Is The Orb Of Avarice?

The Orb of Avarice is a powerful magic item that Jinwoo obtained when he defeated the ruler of the lower floors within the demon castle. The Orb of Avarice is a red crystal sphere made of petrified blood from the high-ranking demon Vulcan. It emanates immense magical energy and is known for its incredible amplification properties.

The Orb of Avarice can enhance the wielder’s magical abilities, specifically the power of their output, to about a hundred percent of the original output. This item is a boon to any sorcerer, and most people would do anything to get their hands on it.

Most people would certainly remember that Fragment of the World Tree was also another item dropped by this boss, as it was vital to Jinwoo’s mother’s treatment. However, most people paid little to no attention to the Orb of Avarice because Jinwoo, too, didn’t at the time.

Why Did Jinwoo Choose To Keep The Sphere of Avarice?

When Jinwoo first got the Sphere of Avarice, he didn’t think he’d have much use of it as he doesn’t use much sorcery to have his magic amplified. His first thought was to sell it, as his occupation as an E-rank hunter didn’t fetch him a good income. The problem that this posed was that it would be odd for a mere E-rank hunter to carry an A-rank item around, which would suggest that he stole it from someone.

Matters have changed now that Jinwoo has now reached the S-rank. He can now carry high-ranking artifacts, and now that he is the 10th S-rank hunter of Korea, not many would want to raise this as an issue against him. However, the appraisal that was done by a professional taught Jinwoo that the weapons made by the system were far more valuable than he had taught initially. On learning this, he decided to sell the less valuable items from his system and keep the Sphere of Avarice for his personal use.

What Did Jinwoo Do With The Sphere of Avarice?

On Jinwoo’s third entry into the demon castle, he gave the Sphere of Avarice to one of his shadow soldiers, Tusk (he was the shadow soldier made from Kalgalkan). This proved to be one of the best choices made by Jinwoo during the demon castle subjugation, as Tusk, who was already one of Jinwoo’s most powerful shadow soldiers, is almost twice as strong now as compared to before.

Even Jinwoo was astounded to see the effects of Tusk’s spell, which managed to turn its enemy into ashes. This is an incredible achievement as Tusk, who was recently converted into a shadow soldier, is nowhere near its full strength. Later in the story, Tusk has the Sphere of Avarice incorporated into a grand staff, which he then uses to destroy all his enemies.
