What is the Simple Domain in Jujutsu Kaisen?
A Simple Domain technique is a barrier and anti-domain at the same time. Domain expansion makes it so that the enemy gets hit with a hundred percent certainty, but Simple Domain can negate the domain expansions. The usage is versatile.
Jujutsu reached its height of advancement during this period, and it became known as the Golden Age of Shamans – or the Golden Age of Cursed Techniques.
There are so many new Cursed Techniques whizzing around that a Jujutsu sorcerer named Ashiya Sadatsuna creates a technique – which would later be called Simple Domain – to protect his disciples from evil curses and sorcerers.
Mechamaru uses this technique in the battle against Mahito and Kasuki Miwa against Maki and we also see Yuji use the same against Sukuna.
New Shadow Style: Simple Domain was seen in the earlier episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen (or chapters), where Kasumi Mikwa tried to kill Yuji during the Goodwill Event Arc.
After the initial entry, many characters employ the Simple Domain technique. Each execution makes it more and more versatile and shows that it has great potential.
Even cursed spirits in the series have been known to use the Simple Domain. But there might be risks to using it as the weaker ones have taken injuries and backlash damage after using the Simple Domain technique.
How does Yuji use the Simple Domain?
Yuji Itadori learned how to use Simple Domain one month before the final battle against Sukuna by swapping souls with Atsuya Kusakabe during replacement training. He employed this anti-domain strategy to defend himself from Sukuna’s impromptu Malevolent Shrine.
Yuji, although not part of the Sadatsuna lineage, could learn the Simple Domain by cheating. He swaps bodies with Atsuya Kusakabe (who could use the Domain) and hides it as a trump card to use when the worst comes to worst, and he does.
The Simple Domain survived and resisted domain extension for about 99 seconds before being removed. Which, when we look at the entire struggle, is a huge success.
We must recall that Yuta almost died 5 minutes after Gojo returned. The Simple Domain was passed down by Sadatsuna Ashiya’s school of thought and was banned from being communicated to others.
However, in contemporary times, numerous sorcerers with no relation can employ Simple Domain. Her mentor trained Kasumi Miwa in Junior High, while Aoi Todo, who is not from a sorcerer family, studied from Yuki Tsukumo.
