The world of My Hero Academia has, no doubt, given us many amazing heroes worth the hype. But fans can’t deny that the series has also given us as much as simp-worthy Villains with some of the best character writing. They’ve become a part of our lives as we’ve been following their journey for a long time now.
Now that the manga has ended, everyone has been dying to know the fate of such characters. We know heroes are doing quite well for themselves, but what about the Villains? Did they get the redemption or their deserved happy ending? In this blog, we will uncover the answers to such questions.
Himiko Toga- A Victim Trapped by the Cruel Fate
Himiko Toga is one of the major antagonists of My Hero Academia. Initially introduced as a Yandere with a disturbing bloodlust, she later joined the League of Villains and subsequently fought in the great war under the command of Tomura Shigaraki.
Society loves to portray her as a crazy sadist due to her erratic behavior, but in reality, she is just a misunderstood victim in need of help and understanding. Ochako was the first to see through Toga’s turmoil and tried to reach out to her during their final confrontation.
Toga is initially enraged by her kindness and inflicts a deep wound on Ochako as a retaliation. But finally, after the long battle, the hero’s words and determination got through to her. After seeing Ochako’s fatal injuries and as her final act of gratitude, Toga performs a life-saving blood transfusion and dies next to her.
Dabi- A Son’s Rigor to Become Worthy of his Father’s Love
Toya Todoroki, better known by his villain’s name, Dabi, is the eldest son of the Pro Hero Endeavor. He has a fire-type quirk and was presumed to be dead for a long time until he made a surprising revelation during the Paranormal Liberation War Arc.
He has made his lifelong goal of taking revenge on his father for all the suffering he’d inflicted. For that purpose, he’d gone as far as to sacrifice his brother, Shoto, to see his father’s pain. During his final confrontation with his father, Dabi has a suicidal plan up his sleeves, where he plans to take down the entire Todoroki family with him.
For a moment, everything seemed to be going according to him, but thanks to Rei, Fuyumi, Natsuo, and Shoto, who managed to quell his flames, he was stopped. As of the last chapter, Dabi’s body was kept inside a life support system. He is trying to make amends with his family even if he is slowly proceeding to his death.
Tomura Shigaraki- A Helpless Child Nobody Reached out for
The major antagonist of My Hero Academia wasn’t always the destructive psychopath society has made him out to be. He, too, was once an innocent child, unaware of his role as a puppet in the grand schemes of All For One.
He became a villain after the tribulations he went through because of his ‘decay’ and the lack of a proper support system. He wanted to bring down the hero society, who’d failed him by defeating Izuku Midoriya and achieving One for All.
During the final fight with Izuku, he was taken over by All For One. Later, when Izuku transferred the One For All to the Villain, all its former users and Shigaraki (who was brought back by Nana) made an effort to finish All For One before peacefully succumbing to injuries. He seemed to greatly affect Deku’s journey, as even after the leap, Deku still remembered him.
