After the news of its cancellation, Disney announced that The Owl House would return for one last season to wrap up Luz Necoda’s story and her final adventure in the Boiling Isles. Season 3 was slated to consist of three lengthier specials spread throughout 2022 and 2023, encapsulating the story the creators intended to tell for the last season.
Season 3 premiered with “Thanks to Them,” where Luz and the gang spent months in the Human Realm, stuck since they were still searching for the Titan’s blood to create a new portal. The episode ended with Belos possessing Hunter, tricking Luz and her friends, and escaping to Boiling Isles using Titan’s Blood.
Luz and her friends, along with Camilla, had climbed through the same portal, and “For the Future” opened with them stepping into a reformed Boiling Isles. They find that the Collector has taken over the archipelago and is ruling over all the adults. The only ones he let go were The King, Lilith, Eda, and Odalia.
King might be the only one who can contain the Collector, but he cannot bring himself to harm the child – even when Belos turns the Collector against king.
Camilla, Luz, and her friends return to the Owl House – but the desolate school has changed, and not for the better. Boscha has assumed the role of the school’s mistress and denies the gang any help from her or the students.
Confused by her animosity, the gang investigates and finds that Kikimora is behind this, by manipulating Boscha. The gang convinces Boscha and the other students to rise against Kikimora, and they escape to the Collector’s castle, intending to find and stop Belos.
But wait, it’s not over! Luz’s Palisman finally cracks out of its egg, revealing a young snakeshifter which the protagonist names Stringbean.
At the end of episode 2, Luz and Camilla, along with Luz’s friends, head to the Collector’s castle. And if you thought the last two episodes were filled with mind-blowing action and tear-inducing emotions, you aren’t prepared for the next one.
Episode 3 doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet, but we’ll keep you posted on the end of The Owl House.

Luz Noceda is a teenage human girl who accidentally stumbles upon a portal to another world instead of going to a juvenile detention summer camp. Despite not having magical abilities, Luz pursues her dream of becoming a witch by serving as Eda’s apprentice at the Owl House and ultimately finds a new family in an unlikely setting.
The second season, directly following the events of the first season finale, will follow the main protagonists working together to return Luz to the Human Realm, help Eda confront her inner demons, and search for the truth about King’s past.
