There are six (6) core player stats in God of War (2018) that decide the overall fighting and collecting ability of Kratos in the game. These stats are Strength, Runic, Defense, Vitality, Luck, and Cooldown. Among these stats, luck is the most unique and has very little to do with combat, unlike the rest. So, what does it do?
The luck stat increases a player’s XP, and Hacksilver gains in God of War (2018). Luck also increases the players’ chances of activating the ax pommels and enchantments perks.
Luck is one of the most important stats in the game as it can be massively helpful in upgrading Kratos’ and Atreus’ armors and weapons. Upgrades cost a lot of Hacksilver, and having good luck will give you more of it from a single source, saving a lot of your time.
1. How to increase Luck Stat in God of War?
The luck stat can be increased by equipping luck-boosting armors, talismans, ax pommels, blade grips, enchantments, and collecting Yggdrasil’s Dew of Luck resource in God of War (2018).
Luck is an often-overlooked stat as the players commonly choose to boost stats like strength and runic when selecting their gear, but luck can be beneficial in the longer run. Here are the gears and resources you should look for to boost your luck.
2. Armor Sets
Armors are the most important gear in the game, but very few of them boost the luck stat when equipped. Here are the best armors in God of War that can significantly enhance your luck:
- Tyr’s Lost Unity Armor Set- Players can acquire this armor set by completing two side-quests/favors called ‘Hammer Fall’ and ‘Anatomy of Hope‘ given by the restless spirits wandering the Shores of the Nine.
- Brok’s Royal Dwarven Armor Set- Players can acquire this armor set by completing the 5th favor asked by Brok, the blue dwarf, called ‘Hail to the King.’
- Sindri’s Royal Dwarven Armor Set- Players can acquire this armor set by completing the 5th favor asked by Brok, the blue dwarf, called ‘Hail to the King.’
- Ares Armor Set- This armor set can only be crafted in New Game+ mode using Skap Slag and Hacksilver at Dwarven shop after defeating the dragon Hræzlyr.
Each of these armor sets contains three pieces, and every piece boost luck individually.
3. Talisman
Hvergelmir Stone is the only talisman that can boost luck in the game. It can be crafted at the Dwarven shop in Niflheim using 32000 Hacksilver and 1000 Mist Echoes. It will give you 11 luck.
4. Pommels
Players can choose different pommels/grips for their weapons to boost their core stats and get a unique perk that can be activated during combat.

5. Enchantments
Enchantments can be socketed into armor pieces. Each enchantment boosts specific player stats, and sometimes it even provides a special perk. Upgrading an armor piece increases the number of sockets on it, so make sure to have as many sockets as possible in your armor.
- Tyr’s Shard (10 Luck)- It can be acquired by completing all the quests for Waywards Spirits in Midgard.
- Heart of Svartalfheim (5 Luck)- It can be obtained from the Hidden Chamber, located in Wildwoods.

6. Yggdrasil’s Dew of Luck
The Yggdrasil’s Dew of Luck is a rare resource in the game that slightly increases the luck stat. They are giant glowing drops of water hanging from the tree and are very easy to spot. There are only two dews of luck in the game.
You can find one next to the giant gates at Stonefalls, near Buri’s Storeroom, located east of the Lake of the Nine, and another behind Svartalfheim Tower in King’s Hollow.
If you are looking for an efficient luck build, then keep it 150+ along with 300+ strength. Make sure that all of your gears have some kind of unique perk, and the armors have enchantments socketed in. Luck affects the activation of these perks, and being able to use perks frequently can change the tides of battle in seconds.
