Simon Riley a.k.a Ghost is one of the most beloved protagonists in the history of gaming. He’s been an integral part of Call of Duty for years and he makes his return in the latest Call of Duty title, Modern Warfare 2 (2022).
Granted that Ghost in Modern Warfare 2 is a reimagination of him in another timeline since he got killed by General Shepherd in the original timeline, but he is still as badass as ever. However, he’s incredibly secretive and fans have always wondered how he looks beneath his mask. While his identity isn’t completely revealed in Modern Warfare 2, we do get a glimpse of how he looks.
As Task Force 141 unite together to take down a common enemy while sporting one of Ghost’s mask each, Simon “Ghost” Riley takes off his iconic mask in front of his teammates. We see a shot at the back of his head, revealing a white man with brown hair.
This is as close as we can get to a Ghost face reveal for now, as he’s extremely secretive about his identity which makes him a total badass. In the next shot, we get a glimpse of his eyes as well as a part of his face.
When was Ghost introduced?
Simon “Ghost” Riley has been around the Call of Duty series for a long time. He was a major protagonist in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) as well as its 2020 remaster. He’s also a playable operator in Call of Duty: Warzone.
Ghost was first introduced back in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009). He was a British special forces commander, the second-in-command in Task Force 141. Ghost met his eventual demise in Modern Warfare 2 (2009) as he was betrayed by General Shepherd.
He was later avenged by Captain Price and Soap MacTavish.
Does Ghost die in Modern Warfare 2 (2022) campaign?
Simon “Ghost” Riley’s death at the hands of General Shepherd was deemed as one of the most shocking twists in video game history. Since Modern Warfare 2 (2022)’s announcement, fans have speculated whether they have to go through that same traumatic moment all over again.
Fans of Call of Duty will be pleased to hear that Ghost survives throughout the campaign of Modern Warfare 2 (2022). General Shepherd does betray Ghost and Soap in the campaign, but fortunately, it does not lead to Ghost’s death, unlike his fate in the 2009 game of the same name.
Thankfully, the whole Task Force 141 survives including Soap, Gaz, Captain Price, Laswell as well as Ghost which confirms that all of them will make a return in the third entry for the Modern Warfare series.
