The MCU began in 2008 with Iron Man and hasn’t stopped since. Dividing itself into Phases, each more ambitious than the previous, the MCU has evolved along with its audience. Now in the middle of Phase Four, it’s hard to deny that MCU is the most influential and successful franchise in cinematic history.

1Phase One
Phase One has only six movies, but that doesn’t stop it from having some of the MCU’s most unforgettable and defining lines. From witty one-liners to heartfelt quotes, these dialogues have become engrained in fans’ minds, perfectly representing why the MCU is so beloved.
I. “This Is Just Like Budapest All Over Again.”
Natasha and Clint have one of the strongest friendships in the MCU. Throughout the Infinity Saga, we saw how both of them were willing to sacrifice their lives to save the other.
Phase One introduced us to the friendship between the two Avengers.
Natasha’s line about Budapest, spoken during the battle of New York, keeps returning throughout the MCU until Black Widow reveals what happened during the mission. Even though the ultimate payoff was disappointing, the Budapest line remained popular throughout the Infinity Saga.
II. “Not A Good Soldier, But A Good Man.”

Back in the day, we used to live for Hulk’s one-liners. Mark Ruffalo’s take on Hulk in The Avengers, injecting the character with a dry and clumsy sense of humor, would become his trademark.

Marvel Phase 2 saw the Marvel Cinematic Universe with its Avengers heroes established. Phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe saw the heroes from the previous phase trying to find their way, and these quotes define that journey.

However, there was also a chance on Titan where the heroes could have gotten the Infinity Gauntlet if not for Star-Lord screwing things up. Here, Doctor Strange said, “We’re in the endgame now,” a play on the next movie’s title and a fact of life in the war with Thanos.
IV. “Are You Thor, The God Of Hammers?”
Thor went through drastic changes in Phase 3 of MCU. He returned home to Asgard to find out that not only Loki was alive but also that Odin was displaced.
While he was battling Hulk on Sakaar, he spoke to Odin in what was a dream realm. Odin asked, “Are you Thor, The God of Hammers?” This was where Thor realized the power was within him and he never needed Mjolnir, leading him to become an even stronger hero after Thor: Ragnarok.
V. “Avengers Assemble”
Remember when the whole theatre turned into a stadium? Yes, precisely that dialogue and scene.
Out of every movie quote from Phase 3 of the MCU, there was one that defined everything and received loud cheers at theaters when Captain America finally said it.

I. “I Love You Guys.”
This is one of the best quotes in Spider-Man: No Way Home for its dual meaning, as it reflects Peter three’s happy and emotional mental state. He utters the quote just before the three Spider-Men jump into action, which surprises the other two.
However, it’s a moving quote because it shows Peter-Three’s loneliness. He’d earlier admitted that being with his variants made him feel like he had brothers, hinting that he’d been craving a connection for a long time. This was the best quote in Doctor Strange 2, showing the protagonist at his most vulnerable. After finally staving off the threat of Scarlet Witch, Strange professed his love to Earth-838 Christine, claiming that it didn’t matter if she was a variant because he loved her in every universe.

III. “You Are My Sadness And My Hope. But Mostly, You’re My Love.”
Scarlet Witch tried to keep her sadness at bay by creating a new reality that trapped Westview under her spell. After the fiasco with S.W.O.R.D., the Scarlet Witch had no choice but to let go and experience her grief, telling the Hex Vision that her feelings paved the way for his creation.
This quote was when Scarlet Witch was true to herself, allowing the sadness of losing Vision to come to light.
IV. “Love Is A Dagger.”
During Loki and Sylvie’s banter, the pair mulled over the meaning of love, and Loki came to the conclusion uttered in this quote. According to him, love seemed beautiful from afar but was deadly when it came close.
While Loki wasn’t too passionate during his speech, it’s clear that he saw love as a guaranteed way to get hurt.
V. “The World Has Taken Too Much For You To Still Be Considered A Child.”
M’Baku pretty much said what the audience would think when he uttered this quote to Shuri during Ramonda’s funeral. The youngest member of the royal family had lost her father, brother, and mother in a short time, forcing her to change from the happy, bubbly girl she was to a shattered person.
The ordinarily stoic M’Baku was visibly emotional as he sympathized with Shuri for having to put up with so much pain at such a young age. Moreover, it marked the character development of M’Baku and Shuri, as he changed his former opinion of considering her a careless child now that he saw how much she’d changed.
