Focus Points (FP) & Mana – Replenishing & Farming Guide – Elden Ring

“The Blue” has been the gospel and treasure of gamers for decades. Usually called ‘Mana,’ it is a player’s best friend in combat, letting them cast their spells to thwart the evil designs of enemies. In Elden Ring, though, “The Blue” is called – Focus Points.

Veteran Souls players know how dastardly the Bosses can be and how a slight slip-up will set you back hours of progress. This slight slip-up can be human, but that is bearable. But if the dearth of your FP or Focus Points is the reason, that won’t feel too good.

1. How to restore Focus Points (FP) or Mana in Elden Ring?

There are items that can allow you to replenish used FP in Elden RIng-

1. Flask of Cerulean Tears: Restores a maximum of 220 FP.
2. Flask of Wondrous Physick (Cerulean Crystal Tear): Restores 50% of FP.
3. Starlight Shards: Restores 2 FP per second for 60 seconds.

1.1 Flask of Cerulean Tears

The Cerulean Tears Flask is a type of flask that restores FP. It is extremely common in Elden Ring. It can be upgraded at the Roundtable Hold to increase the amount of FP it restores (220 at max).

The Flask of Cerulean Tears can be obtained by farming Cerulean Teardrop Scarabs. Against a difficult Boss, especially with a Mage-style build, you will want to replenish the Cerulean Tear charges. Be careful though, and have HP flasks at the ready in order to put up an even fight.

1.2 Flask of Wonderous Physick

Flask of Wondrous Physick is a consumable Item in Elden Ring. This special flask can be customized using Crystal Tears to produce different effects. Using Cerulean Crystal Tears gives it a 50% FP restore.

It can be found at the Third Church of Marika Site of Grace, in front of the statue from the Twin Maiden Husk in the Roundtable Hold.

1.3 FP Restoration Equipment/

The following is the list of equipment that restores your FP:

1. Assassin’s Cerulean Dagger.
2. Ancestral Spirit’s Horn.
3. Sacrificial Axe.
4. Sword Of Milos.

Items like these restore FP upon slaying enemies. For instance, Ancestral Spirit’s Horn is a talisman that restores FP when you kill an enemy. The other items also help in FP restoration like the Sacrificial Axe. It is great for cast-type builds.

2. How to increase max FP in Elden Ring?

Increase the Mind stat or equip the FP attribute weapons, armor, talismans, or runes to increase the player’s maximum FP pool in Elden Ring.

Increasing your total Blue pool will give you the comfort to cast high-consumption spells and shave off huge chunks of HP from the Bosses. Not only that, the items such as the Flask of Wonderous Physick mentioned earlier are more effective since it is based on max FP.

2.1 Increasing Mind Attribute

Mind is a primary attribute in Elden Ring that impacts FP, meaning the more Mind points a character has, the bigger their focus pool and the more spells they can cast. Players need to spend runes such as the Lands Between rune at a Site of Grace in order to level up the mind attribute. 

While resting at a Site of Grace, reach out to level up your character, then select the option to upgrade the MND attribute. After doing the needful, you’ll notice the FP gauge increasing a bit as well. 

2.2 Equipment That Increases Max FP

• Godrick’s Great Rune: Increases all attributes by 5.
• Preceptor’s Big Hat: Increases mind but decreases stamina.
• Navy Hood: Increases mind.
• Radahn’s Great Rune: Allows to have 15% more HP, FP, and stamina.
• Marika’s Soreseal: This talisman increases your Mind, Faith, Intelligence, and Arcane by 5, the caveat being it increases damage taken by 10%.
• Cerulean Amber Medallion: This talisman can increase your maximum FP by 12.5%.

2.3 Equipment That Decreases FP Consumption

The following is the list of equipment that reduces FP consumption:

• Ash-of-War Scarab: Skill FP consumption decreased, and damage taken increased.
• Primal Glinstone Blade: Skill FP consumption decreased, and maximum HP decreased as well.
• Carian Fillgreed Crest: Decreases consumption of FP.
• Glintstone Scarab: Limited to Sorcery, FP consumption lowered, and damage taken increased.
• Incantation Scarab: Lowers FP consumption of Incantation skills, and increases damage taken.
