Weathering With You(Tenki no Ko) Shares English Dub Trailer & Cast

Tenki no Ko (Weathering With You) is a feature-length Japanese movie directed by Makoto Shinkai, famous for his work in Kimi no Na Wa (Your Name). The film premiered in July 2019 and was a big hit making around ¥14.04 billion in the Japanese Box Office as of now.

Tenki no Ko has been picked up by GKIDS for an English Dub, and they just released the cast for the same. A trailer has also been released.

The movie premiered on 19th July 2019, selling 1,159,020 tickets in the initial 3 days of release. As of now, the movie is the #7 highest-earning domestic film of all time in Japan.

The movie has already taken home the Best Animated Feature Film at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards in Australia. And the Audience Award at the Animation Is Film Festival in Los Angeles. It has also been nominated for the prestigious Annie Awards, which will be held on 25th January.

The summer of his high school freshman year, Hodaka runs away from his remote island home to Tokyo and quickly finds himself pushed to his financial and personal limits. The weather is unusually gloomy and rainy every day as if to suggest his future. He lives his days in isolation, but finally finds work as a writer for a mysterious occult magazine. Fathom Events will screen the film in theaters in the United States on January 15 and 16. The screenings will be a “Special Fan Preview” with exclusive bonus content before GKIDS opens the film in North America on January 17. The screenings starting on January 17 will have both English-subtitled screenings and English-dub screenings.
