In last week’s episode, more incidents of corruption involving Jenkins are brought to light. One of these team members by the name of Ward is being interrogated. He starts his statement with an apology for all he was involved in but also points out there was not much he could do during the time as nobody ever questioned Jenkins’ authority. During a house raid, they come across a massive amount of cash in a safe and Ward attests to Jenkins keeping over twenty thousand dollars of it for himself.

As the show reaches its penultimate episode, we get a clearer insight into how the system that Jenkins is a part of gave rise to his corrupt ways and at the same time protected him every time he crossed a line. Ward recounts another incident when the team found a safe filled with cash and falsifies how much money they found by first taking out cash for themselves and then making a video pretending to break open the safe for the first time.

We Own This City Episode 4 Recap
The episode begins with a flashback from 2010 when Jenkins is surveilling a man claiming he’s a drug dealer. The scene highlights the clear bias Jenkins had as the only proof he had to believe that this man was a drug dealer was that he had a backpack. A car chase ensues, leading to an accident in which an unrelated innocent man dies.
Jenkins plants drugs in the car in order to justify his reckless pursuit of the vehicle that led to the accident. In 2017, Ward starts his interrogation by apologizing for his involvement in the corrupt activities of the BPD. He also tells them that the only person who warned him about Jenkins being a bad apple was Sean Suiter, who works as a homicide detective now.
Ward recounts an incident in the spring of 2015 when Jenkins had him park the car to block the view of the security camera while he stole some cash from the car of a “suspect”. Meanwhile, Nicole comes across a list of cops who are still working the streets despite having perjured themselves in court and confronts the Captain about it.
