Microsoft had bought ZeniMax Media, Bethesda parent company, back in March for a whopping $7.5 billion. The acquisition was quite a deal as the next-gen gaming is knocking on the door, all set to enter the video game industry. This led to a lot of tittle-tattle about Bethesda’s and Microsoft’s collective future.
To shed light on the future of both the companies, Microsoft will hold an event, as per GamesBeats’ Jeff Grubbs. The event will discuss Bethesda’s acquisition of Microsoft in detail, along with the prospects of upcoming Bethesda releases. It is expected that the event will take place during mid-March.
Grubb said,
“Once the deal closes, they will talk about it in a big way,”
Jeff Grubb
“I don’t know if it will be a full Direct-style event, but they will make note of it, and they will talk about it extensively, and they will explain what it means to everybody.”
Jeff Grubb
According to Grubb, one should not expect to see new titles or hardware being launched. It is believed that emphasis will be given to the financial and business part of Xbox and gaming.
The news of Bethesda’s acquisition emerged in September, so you must be wondering why is the event taking place now?
It is because the deal isn’t finalized yet. Some formalities are yet to be looked into, but the announcement is imminent. The enthusiasts will be eager to know if the acquisition will affect Bethesda’s titles available on other platforms.
To further confirm the event’s rumours, Skullzi, a video game investigator, tweeted about Bethesda releasing a new marketing video about Starfield.
As soon as the legal procedure is done, you can expect this announcement to be official.
