Denzel Washington and Spike Lee’s New Film is Set to Break Boundaries

Spike Lee and Denzel Washington are about to do the unexpected with the High and Low remake. The actor-director has had a strong professional relationship over the last 34 years.

Their last film was Inside Man (2006), and they’re finally back together for the remake of Akira Kurosawa’s thriller film High and Low. Lee is set to direct the remake of the 1963 classic, while Washington is set to step into the shoes of Toshiro Mifune’s character.

High and Low will be another important addition to their brilliant filmography together. The previous films they collaborated on took different approaches, as they focused on original stories or biographies.

Kurosawa’s High and Low will be the first remake where Washington and Spike will work together. Both have done remakes of other films but did not work on one together.

Denzel has worked on remakes like The Manchurian Candidate, The Taking of Pelham 123, and The Magnificent Seven. Spike has remade the 2013 film Oldboy.

Denzel and Spike’s films together dealt with various genres. They first collaborated on Mo’ Better Blues, a comedy-drama based on an original script. They then made a biopic, Malcolm X together, and a sports movie, He Got Game.

Denzel and Spike last worked together on Inside Man, a crime thriller, before collaborating for the fifth time on High and Low. It could be a major risk as High and Low is a classic. It is widely considered one of Kurosawa’s best films. We will find out if the duo can live up to our expectations when the film is released.
