Modern Warfare 2 Fans Concerned Over Integrated Launch w/ Warzone 2

Activision and Infinity Ward decided to jointly release the multiplayer modes of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 with Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0. Now that the launch date is approaching, the Call of Duty community seems to have a new reason to worry. 

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 fans have concerns that the integrated release of Warzone 2.0 with the base game will overshadow the latter. 

Everyone’s doubt over this is justified. In 2019, the original Warzone and Modern Warfare were released together, and it was a mess altogether. 

The multiplayer mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was neglected content-wise, and Activision made it mandatory for players to install Warzone even if you were just interested in the base game. Steam and Battle.net users have even discovered a way to have Modern Warfare 2 without keeping the files for Warzone 2. 

Fans claim that the classic Call of Duty multiplayer game will just be used as a medium of promotion for Warzone 2.0. The Reddit thread featuring the above post is rising up to popularity, with more and more gamers joining in on the discussion. Players are now focused on the order in which Activision and Infinity Ward will combine Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. 

There’s a lot of Modern Warfare 2 content releasing on November 16 for Call of Duty fans, namely, Season 1 DLC, DMZ, and Warzone 2.0. All content will be shared between the two games, and gamers can find out what Infinity Ward has in store for them after the battle royale game becomes free to download. 

Warzone 2.0’s upcoming extraction-based DMZ mode looks promising, taking cues from Escape From Tarkov and The Division’s Dark Zone. Hopefully, the action gameplay mode lives up to everyone’s standards.
