As the Wizarding World of Harry Potter expands beyond the walls of Hogwarts, the latest installment in the Fantastic Beasts franchise is said to explore the secrets of Albus Dumbledore.
In a new announcement for Warner Bros., Jude Law, who plays the wise wizard in the prequel series, revealed that the second full-length trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will drop this Thursday, February 24.
In the video clip, Law spoke about how he’s honored to play one of the world’s most powerful wizards, calling him “a man who’s always one step ahead. A man who believes in the good in people and someone quick to offer wise, if not cryptic, words of advice.”
The actor revealed that the third film will give some insight into “the backstory that helped shape the legendary wizard that we came to love in Harry Potter.”
The stakes are very high for the wizard, as in the previous film we saw Gellert Grindelwald teaming up with Credence/Aurelius, so now more than ever, he needs an “unlikely team of heroes to face his greatest test yet.”
Law also urged fans to “join Dumbledore’s first army” and share their love for the wizard with cosplay, fan art, tattoos, favorite quotes, anything and everything Dumbledore related.
As revealed in the first trailer last December, the situation is much more grave than just Newt Scamander rescuing Fantastic Beasts all around the world. This time, he’ll have to draw his wand out to fight for Dumbledore.
However, if the stakes really are so high, Dumbledore has to find a way to fight Grindelwald, regardless of the Blood pact.
Hopefully, the trailer reveals a little more about said secrets and also brings back his Phoenix companion, Fawkes, as teased in the official poster.
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will be out in theaters in the US on April 15, 2022.
