A scrapped post-credits scene from Avengers: Endgame has been used in WandaVision episode five to give viewers some insight into the backstory of the Westview anomaly, much of which is still a mystery. The scene, which was originally supposed to come after Endgame, would set up the events of WandaVision and explain how Vision got to the idyllic town of Westview after his death in Infinity War.
Wandavision is the first television series by Marvel Entertainment, and it premiered on Disney+ on January 15, 2021. The show focuses on Wanda Maximoff and Vision, as they try to live a happy, married life in a sitcom-like world in the town of Westview. But soon, they realize that something is wrong with their reality.
The latest episode in the series revealed that Wanda is not being forced into creating an alternate reality, but she herself is responsible for the whole town of Westview disappearing. It was further revealed that all the townspeople—Herb, Norm, and until recently, Monica Rambeau—are all Wanda’s hostages. Now, it seems that even Vision, or rather Vision’s corpse, is under Wanda’s mind control.
The scrapped Endgame scene sees Wanda breaking into a top-secret S.W.O.R.D. facility to steal Vision’s body. She has probably reanimated the corpse to embody Vision because she could not deal with the grief of his passing.
Paul Bettany had revealed in an Ask Me Anything session with IMDb that a similar scene was supposed to be the post-credits scene of Endgame, but it ultimately did not happen:
“At one point there was going to be a tag, where [Wanda] opened a sort of body bag drawer and there was Vision. “[Marvel president] Kevin [Feige] kind of talked to me and said, ‘I’ve got to pull the shots.’ And I was like, ‘Ugh!’ Because I really wanted that profit participation!”

Wanda’s storming of the S.W.O.R.D. facility was seen as a video camera footage in WandaVision’s episode five. Does this mean that a first-person view of the scene is coming up in future episodes? It would explain Wanda’s heightened powers and how she can create such a strong energy field barrier around Westview and keep thousands of people inside.
What do you think? Did you find any other Easter eggs in episode five?
