Episode 5 Recap

The episode begins with a flashback where Guil plays the piano with a man who strangely enough looks like Ange. Someone calls him by the name Yutaka, and the man drops his sheet music.

Suddenly Guil feels a sharp pain in his chest, and he wakes up from the dream. As he opens his shirt, we get to see a spidery red mark over the skin near his heart.

As Guil comes for breakfast, Ange asks him about the visual prison event, informing him he will sing. The last day of October is the primary day for Visual Prison, the most beautiful song sung on that day will receive a scarlet tear from the scarlet moon.

Guil tells them that if they’re going to participate in Visual Prison, then there’s something they must do first, get matching outfits, of course.

The three go to Elizabeth, who tells them he’ll take their outfit requests even if they have a vampire slayer in their midst. Ange tells her the color scheme should be blue like the sky.

Ange worries that he doesn’t have an end goal other than singing. Ange goes to the rooftop to talk to Guil and tells him about his family. His grandma would always tear up hearing him sing, reminded of his mom.

Ange says he isn’t alone anymore. He’s connected to Eve and Robin through music and wants to do the same with Guil. Guil is surprised because it’s the same thing Yutaka had told him all those years ago.

Time for a flashback again. We see a mopey Guil head off stage, unsatisfied with his own music. Saga runs after him, but it’s no use. A listless Guil sings in the rain, his back against the wall of Astro Garden. Yutaka comes and talks to him after listening to his song.

Guil decides to disband Eclipse, leaving a very vulnerable-looking Saga behind. He abandons being a vampire and makes music with Yutaka, which is what makes him truly happy.

He knew their time together was limited, but Yutaka’s accident still shook him to his core. Yutaka is seen with a woman by his side, and they both pass away from the accident.

That was the time when Guil discovered he couldn’t sing anymore. Ange can’t put his feelings into words, so he breaks out into a song. Guil is like, “welp! I’m convinced.” He asks Ange to promise to continue to sing no matter what he has to endure and joins Oz.
