Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 19 Release Date, Speculation, Watch Online

Ketil arrives back at the farm but is immediately met with horrible news in episode 18 of Vinland Saga season 2 titled “The First Measure.”

Finally docking back at the farm, Ketil and the others reach back and immediately announce the incoming war. However, Thorgil keeps the enemy’s name a secret since revealing that the king of England is approaching would instantly demotivate everyone.

Ketil hears the news of Arnheid and Gardar, and it proves to be the tipping point that pushes him over the limit and makes him completely lose control. We will soon discover why he was named the Iron Fist during wartime.

The next episode is anticipated for a long time now, with the reunion of Leif and Thorfinn imminent, as well as the invasion of the farm by King Canute. He would like Ketil to surrender immediately, but he will likely go on a rampage in his current state.

3. Recap of Episode 18:

Canute continues sailing with multiple troops as they make quick time on the trip to Ketil’s farm, and they begin thinking about how the meeting will go. They want Ketil to cower before the king and not be forced to get violent, which he will be if he needs to.

Thorgil and the crew reach the dock, where he immediately announces, they will go to war soon. Thorgil says that their enemy will quickly come and try to take over the entire farm and grabs Olmar alongside him as they prepare for battle.

Ketil lies dazed and begins to walk towards the farm to Arnheid. The retainers talk of their forces and conclude that in their current state, there is no way they can fight a war regardless of the enemy. Thorfinn and Einar have been restrained and can do nothing but speculate.

Thorfinn continues to praise Snake, he doesn’t want to fight him, but he is forced to and still lets Gardar die. He begins contemplating the entire idea; maybe there was another way to go about it without so much violence occurring again. 

Ketil reaches back into his house and calls out for Arnheid, and finds out she was tied up and thrown in the stable and he is also informed about the escape attempt. Ketil’s world is falling apart, and he cannot understand why Arnheid would even try to leave.

Snake stops Leif from meeting Thorfinn, but he needs the master’s approval. Pater has a request for him and asks him to buy two more enslaved people on top of Thorfinn and Einar since letting Arnheid go from the farm would be difficult.

Ketil reaches the shed with a stick and begins beating Arnheid, shouting at her and asking why she would even try to escape, to rob him of his pride. Arnheid tells him that there is a baby in her belly and not to beat her there, but he has completely lost faith in everything.

He repeatedly beats her until Snake is forced to step in and rationally asks him if he plans to kill her. Pater is assigned to treat her wounds, and Leif offers to buy the slaves while Ketil tries to leave, but he flatly refuses to sell Arnheid.

Einar sees a significantly wounded Arnheid on the bed and is completely shaken. Ketil walks into his house and pulls his sword out of the chest for the first time in years, pledging to forgive no one, not even the king.
