Alarm bells ring across the farm as the situation turns dire, signaled by the escape of a beast in episode 15 of Vinland Saga season 2 titled “Storm.”
Arnheid goes to tend the wounds of her husband but the situation, along with the guards taunting and the state of panic they both lie in, makes Gardar reveal his inane strength and power as he breaks through the restraints and escapes.

Gardar’s escape has created a widespread panic around the village as the true extent of its seriousness sets in with everyone inhabiting it. He merely wants to escape into a new life with Arnheid, but the crimes he has committed so far are not something to be taken lightly.
Snake is incredibly distraught and furious at the escaped prisoner, considering the number of his underlings he has brutally murdered. A fight between the two is bound to break out and could go either way, neither being positive.

3. Recap of Episode 15:
Arnheid walks out in the middle of the night. She runs into Snake and one of the guards leaving to do some other mission. He’s in a hurry and tells another one of the guards to take Arnheid back but is quickly convinced by her to let her tend to Gardar’s wounds.
She goes to Gardar, tied all up, and sees how much he was beaten up. The guards begin taunting both of them from behind them as she becomes even more distressed at the situation, but Gardar isn’t paying attention to anything except the woman in front of him.
He apologizes for everything he has put them and their family through, and she bursts into tears on her knees. The rain pours down on the solemn moment as one of the guards tries and forcibly picks Arnheid away, but Gardar, in his rage, lunges and bites his throat clean off.
Unable to even lift his sword, he dies on the spot immediately. He screams at Arnheid to take the knife and cut his ropes, but she is in disbelief. As Snake visits the site later, he only finds a massive group of corpses and realizes that the only step now is to kill him immediately on sight.
Einar and Thorfinn sit in contemplation as they worry about all the violence surrounding them, and he thinks back to his life as a warrior, where he didn’t think of the people he killed even once. Einar wants to eliminate the world of war and hatred but doesn’t know how to go about it.
Thorfinn talks of the culture of the Nords, one where honor and respect are built atop valor and ability on the battlefield. However, Thorfinn now realizes his sins, and the people he killed continue haunting him in his mind and dreams.
He plans to atone for all his sins, build back more houses than he has burned, and help more people than he has killed. He wants to make a land that does not need swords, but such a place is far beyond any of their imaginations.
Far to the west, beyond the sea, beyond the reach of any authority lies the land they seek for. Thorfinn recalls what Leif had told him as a child, the untouched fertile land of peace on the other side of the sea, Vinland.
