Diesel, who recently attended the Italian Formula 1 race, posted a teaser that tied the event to the upcoming final chapter of the Fast and Furious series.
On the F1 tracks, Diesel is seen wearing a tank top that has Toretto and O’Conner’s (his and Paul Walker’s) names on it under the banner that says “Brotherhood.” The video is captioned “The race! Big things coming…” Have a look at the video:
The video itself is strictly very F1 and doesn’t contain any reveals for Fast and Furious 10. Diesel has, however, made it a point to tag the post with hashtags like #FX #Italy #Leadwithlove #Toretto and #Fastsaga.
This leads us to believe that an F1 race will be featured in the final movie. After all, F9 did have a flashback recall to Dom’s father, who was a professional racer.
As the franchise is all about brotherhood, family and legacy, the movie may incorporate Dom’s legacy as the son of a professional racer into the film. “The race” could be a wager that the entire team depends on — since, we do know a few threats from F9 will be returning as well.
Although I don’t want to read into it too much, the actor’s t-shirt may be another clue: Diesel did speak about how wonderful it would be to have Paul Walker’s daughter in the movie too.
One thing is for sure, Fast and Furious 10 is titled “FX”. Don’t miss the hashtag!
FX is slated for April 7, 2023. There is a little less than two years to go but we’re sure that the creative direction is locked down and production too is rolling the throttle. FX will be the first half of the two-part finale to the Fast and Furious franchise.
Elements of F9 will tie into the upcoming movie. This includes the plot around Dom’s brother Jakob played by John Cena and Charlize Theron’s Cipher’s continued antagonism.
Apart from Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris are confirmed to return, with Justin Lin directing. We await more official details but Instagram teasers are always welcome!
