Episode 6 Recap
In episode 6 of Vermeil in Gold, Elena confronts Obsidian’s monster, which regenerates after each attack. To keep Vermeil under control, Obsidian ties a magic chain around her neck.
Obsidian gloats as Alto and Lilia arrive, saying that he had been attacking individuals and injecting them with demon essence in an attempt to make them into demons, but now he has a true demon.
Obsidian regards this as his ultimate triumph, as a true devil’s power looks to be under his control at this time.
Vermeil breaks the chain and strikes Obsidian, but Alto shields him, and her claws puncture his heart. Enraged, she assaults Obsidian again, but Alto stops her by hugging her and begging her not to kill Obsidian before collapsing.
Vermeil reverts to her normal self and heals Alto. Obsidian freaks out, getting frustrated over the fact that devils can heal others, then injects himself with his formula and transforms into a hideous demon, declaring he will kill them all.
Vermeil casually punches a hole through him. He panics and tries to flee, but Chris shoots him down, and Vermeil knocks him unconscious. Obsidian implored her to spare his life, but she chooses to do so out of loyalty to Alto rather than in response to Obsidian’s plea.
The monster that Elena was battling runs away. Obsidian is apprehended when all of his victims awaken from their comas. Later, Vermeil explains to Alto that in order to heal him, she connected their life forces, such that if one of them dies, the other will also die. It is Vermeil’s heart that is pounding inside Alto.
Vermeil suddenly turns cold towards Alto, telling her that her monster form was her actual form and that she should avoid her. Alto replies he doesn’t care and kisses her, making her uncomfortable.
He wants her to be his constant companion. After being embarrassed, Alto flees the room at the end of the chapter.
