Recap of Episode 8
Hana is distressed that Shinichi doesn’t call her by her first name while calling Yanagi by her first name on their first meeting. Yanagi has a conversation with Akihiko regarding Shinichi and Hana not being on a ‘first-name basis’ yet, while Ami introduces herself to Yanagi.
Shinichi tells Hana that it is embarrassing to call each other by their first name all day because being on a first-name basis means they are close.
Hana asks Shinichi if he even considers her a friend, as she is the only one Shinichi calls by her last name. Shinichi explains that maybe Hana is the special one, making it difficult for him to call her by her first name. Shinichi feels that he might have blurted out something he should not have, thereby boosting Hana’s confidence.
Yanagi concludes that Hana loves him so much as to make the people around them feel self-conscious. Ami and Akihiko also agree that Hana loves Shinichi. Yanagi decides to help Hana soon.
Yanagi tells Tsuki that she met Shinichi at the café. She further says that though Shinichi’s eyes are scary, he is easier to talk to and likes games.
Yanagi wonders if he would play games with her too. Tsuki’s neverending series of misunderstandings start to surface yet again. So, Tsuki forbids Yanagi to go to the café alone in the future to guide her daughters.
Fujio is devastated when Yanagi refuses to tell him where she went but is delighted soon after Kiri asks him a favor to let him go to the gym he works. Kiri is stressed due to studying for exams and lack of physical activity.
Since only older people work out at that gym, Kiri feels boosted and superior upon working out among them but then feels down after watching a bulked-up older man lifting heavier weights than him and an older woman running faster than him.
As he plans to swim, Kiri spots Shinichi. Since Shinichi wants to forget that he called Hana special, he takes it all out on swimming. Kiri, who was competing one-sidedly with Shinichi, is utterly crestfallen.
